There were historical revolts in 1838 that may be modeled.

Plus in 1836, theres still a French majority in Canada. Revolt was in the cards all along, esp. if the US backed it.

A few years later and Britain is having some more 'internal' problems. The revolts on the American east-coast are supressed but Scottish rebels (?!?) rise on the west-coast. And in Wales, Anglia and Scotland there is trouble as well.

This is the coolest Vic2 AAR so far. Nice work.

Thanks a lot

Weird that the ASW starts early and that the US leaves Texas to die in every AAR? I know that PI's intention is to make the game less deterministic but I hope it's not a free for all like HoI3.

Once the Japan AAR comes to an end I might do another one with the US. If there's still time to do so before release.

Fantastic AAR. You have me really psyched for the game. (Notice I don't own it yet)

There is a robust conversation going on here and all I can really put forward is I don't think knowing other nations army size will be too big of an issue. In EU3 even you could crack open the ledger in MP and see how many infantry/cavalry/artillery/big ships/etc. a country has. You can save an MP game and load up as anyone you want so I think actual troop numbers aren't a huge issue.

What strikes me is how good the game looks. Makes me happy but worried at the same time. I never tried HOI3 and so I have no reference point on performance. :panic:

If gurantees are not possible, I would say go on to alliances between vietnam, china and Korea...
I would say that this seems to be the only plausible way to model their relationships in Vic2.
It is just somehow ridiculous to see japan or any other power able to just pick off little Korea without its centuries-old ally (or more like overlord^^) China given a chance to intervene...

Question: If these powers were to start allied, could a strong western power get a 3 for 1 deal in terms of BB and still put down war goals like annexation ? Can you still make satellite nations?

You don't get infamy just for dowing, it's from the wargoals you add. You still need to add wargoals vs each nation to take anything if you dow an alliance.

Couldn't you get rid of those import subsidies now that you can tax people below 50%? Then you could lower taxes on the middle/upper classes further still :D

Perhaps tariff subsidies are making the life off your new factories hard? Foreign goods are cheaper?

Doesn't Japan produce clothes (artisans) and silk (there was silk RGOs in Japan in vic1 if I recall correctly?) for your lux cloth factory? Maybe those tariff subsidies are making industries based on imports seem much more profitable?

Do you know why the luxury clothes factory closed down? Were the inputs too expensive? Was there too much supply of luxury clothes on the WM? Couldn't they get enough workers into the factory?

I'm not sure if you know these things. But it would be awesome if you could see in game how competitive your industries are.

No, unfortunately not. I noticed it was gone when I checked on the progress of my fortifications.

Some of the railroad construction is waiting for cement. Is that because the capitalists don't have the money to buy it or is there just no supply of it? If the latter: too bad your cappies aren't building factories for it with your coal supplies..
