Ito Masaki stands before the Diet, having been selected by his party to announce this most important news.

Through the mutual decision of the party leadership, the Kamikaze Party or KAP, longtime proponent of tradition, imperialism, and free trade, shall hereby be formally merged with the National Liberal Party. Long ago we split from them when we felt they were following a path we could not follow. We now feel that we walk the same path once more. The divine wind shall continue to blow from within the ranks of the NLP. May this union only serve to make Nippon stronger.

- Count Ito Masaki of Miyazaki, Minister of Justice

((EB, Keinwyn, and I have all agreed to this, so the KAP is no longer a party and now is but another faction within the NLP.))

Reactions:
"Now would be the ideal time for certain members of the NLP to reassert their independence and campaign in this election as an independent, conservative political party."

Yamagata is the best choice we have of defeating the Jacobin and Communist menace. We must be prepared to sacrifice some liberties and freedoms in exchange for security and safety. Long live the Emperor! Long live Japan! Tenno heika banzai!

Name: Ōshiro Masanori
Date of Birth: April 21st, 1867
Place of Birth: Okayama, Japan
Speciality: Politician
Bio: Masanori is the grandson of the first Prime Minister of Japan, Ōshiro Kazuki. At the age of 18, his father sent him off to Britain to receive a Western education, believing that it would be beneficial to his intellectual growth. While Masanori was largely ostracized and treated as an outsider by his fellow classmates, most of whom came from the British elite, he gained an appreciation for the free and democratic society that existed in Britain. After graduating, he returned to Japan, and became a staunch supporter of the NLP, the party of his grandfather. However, he was soon turned off by its increasingly authoritative nature, a far cry from the party it was when his grandfather had led it. Following the implementation of the Constitutional Principles Act and other acts to restrict the freedoms of the Japanese people, Masanori left the NLP and joined the newly founded Liberal Democratic Party. Shortly before the 1898 election, his father would die from cancer and Masanori would inherit his title as Marquis of Okayama and his seat on the Privy Council. A staunch democrat and social liberal, Masanori hopes to see Japan restored to a true democracy once again as it was under his grandfather.

For those who wish for the return of the rights of Nippon's people, including Freedom of Speech, Freedom of Choice and Freedom to Participate in Government, I advise that they vote Liberal-Democrat, we stand in opposition of the NLP and their strangle-hold on the governing of our country.
