Lol!

No this isn't an actual game event, but for one of my empires, their deities are actually rogue Unbidden who lost their ability to feed on the life energies of beings on this plane of existence. They gradually lost the ability to do so, while at the same time, growing disgusted with the act as well as hatred towards the 'unchanged' Unbidden continuing to feast on the beings of the universe.

Eventually, the rogue Unbidden lost the ability to feed on non-Unbidden and turned on their unchanged kin. While the Rogues were much stronger (having somehow tapped into the Shroud, which may have been the cause of their changes), the Unchanged had the advantage of numbers. This resulted in the Rogues fleeing with a few Unchanged hot on their tails, hunting down the deviant Unbidden before they could change the rest of Unbidden kind. The survivors hid on other worlds where they were worshipped by the native lifeforms as gods.

My species worshipped a group of Rogues, honoring the leader of this particular group of changed Unbidden as their sun goddess. Eventually, the Unchanged were wiped by the earliest and most powerful of the spacefaring empires at the time.

Unfortunately, the Rogue Unbidden were targeted as well. So, they hid in alternate pocket dimensions created using Unbidden technology and their Shroud powers, making these dimensions to serve as their respective worshippers' heaven/nirvana/afterlife.

Anyhow, I just wanted to see what everyone thinks about this and has anyone else done anything similar to incorporating Stellaris lore into their empires' origins.
