Can't really relate to that. Whenever a crisis happens in my galaxy, Awakened empires are all over it in a matter of seconds and I don't even get to see it before they snuff it out... I... just generally don't think Crises work correctly anymore.

Really?

I had the Pretheryon show up last night. The human players took the time to wipe them out, and then six months later, a Fallen Empire declares themselves "Guardian of the Galaxy."

We were laughing at them.

Every single time. I have yet to play a game where I didn't do at least 90% of the work. 20 years later after the opinion modifier wears off everyone just forgets how I saved the whole damn galaxy from annihilation.

From my testing, there are some *big* problems with the combat/war AI and how they handle wars with anything that does not have a fully meshed border with them. If two empires somehow get into a war with eachother, but have a bunch of empty space between their territories somehow, you will see them sitting with their entire fleet at their homeworld, doing nothing.

In a test on ST: Horizons, the borg were at war with three empires around them, but because of a lack of colonizable planets (I was testing planet #s and performance), the borg and all of their "enemies" just sat with their entire fleets doing nothing for literally 30 years.

I then pushed up the border sizes to get the borg borders meshing into their enemies and... immediately all fleets started flying around fighting eachother.

Obviously the combat AI designed for some reason *requires* borders to be meshed with any empire they are at war with to actually do something. I don't have access to the hard AI code but I speculate that some shortcuts were taken with assuming borders touching, and that this may bleed over to normal empires and their (in)ability to fight crises and other far-away enemies.

So unfortunately this means there is no way for a mod to fix the problem. Need whoever at the P'dox team in charge of AI to fix their broken fleet combat AI. After that, mods could fix the issues with actually going to war at the right times.

If the crisis put its self in a state of war with every other civ then no on would be able to form federations as you can't form while at war.
A unique form of 'at war' is needed that still allows federation formation but triggers all the usual activity.

A really good point.. no treaties can be agreed when at war so that would suck if you where "at war" until the Unbidden are gone...

However I get the OP's point. Normally the only AI empires you see fighting the unbidden are the ones who's territory is impacted by them and I have seen a FE awaken to fight them. It just feels weird in the case of federations where the rest of the potentially powerful federation you are in effectively ignores the Unbidden rather than fighting as a whole as they can in other conflicts...
