Now I know it will be real hard to stage an attack on America soil as Germany, but can u ally wid Mexico and possibly send troops thru there? Send Ural bombers against the East coast? Or is it jest impossible to directly attack the US?

Sure, it's possible to attack America, ally with Mexico, the whole thing.

However, the problem is in that America has such a powerful industry, and combine the US' navy with Britain's, and you end up with a very difficult journey from Europe across the Atlantic to cause any damage.

I would assume that any invasion of the US would follow a conquest of Britain. If the Germans could consolidate in Europe quickly enough, they might even be able to build a Navy that could compete with the American Atlantic fleet. That is a lot of "what if's" but it absolutely could happen.

The only way I see Germany attacking and winning against America is if it defeats Britain and creates a puppet state. Germany than takes military control of Britains forces (including its navy) sails across the Atlantic with Britains navy and its own army and tadda a possible Nazi victory. Obviously this plan has a lot of what ifs, but in my opinion it’s the only way to beat America as Germany.

Neutralizing Britain would be necassary, of course...

However, I don't think you'd need to enlist the help of the Royal Navy. It being out of the way would be enough for Germany to send a task force over to the East Coast to force a decisive battle.

Using the British navy isn't necessary to fairy the troops, but it will be able to take out the US fleet making supply more easy, plus if troop moral is taken in to affect losing ones navy has to be a kick in the nuts.

I think it would be much more interesting though to do this in reverse. A situation where germany wins hands down in europe, and the US (and canada of course:D ) ends up mounting a huge invasion of occupied europe. But that's just me.

That would be fun, probably hard to do naturally (ie natural occurrence within the game). That would make a great mod though:D

I intend to make such a scenario. That depends totally though on whether it is possible to extend the game past 1948. They found a way to alter the time in eu2, so i assume it's possible here too. Bloody well better be :)

US can be beaten quickly if you concentrate and use your force wisely. :D Remember, US has to divide its force for two fronts--Atlantic and pacific. The Japanese Navy can achieve local superiority in no. of carriers if they strike the US Pacific fleet before the AI can transfer all the carriers to the pacific fronts.

Feel the force......:p

I dont know why you talk about that its necessary to invade the UK before moving along west?
The brittish left most of their military assets at Dunquerce (pardon my french) after the defeat. If you rush them with a blitz in France and the lowlands and then as long as thay are contained on their island they dont pose any real threat.
If you then somehow could avoid the US from getting involved you should be able to launch a suprise assault on them.

Wonder if it´s possible to do some island hopping up north? Norway, Iceland, Greenland...and so on. Cant be any more worse conditions than in russian during the winter ;)

No sicker than the Russian campaign surely? (yes I did see the smiley;) )

Against even a weak human player I'd rate chance of a successful invasion of the US as nil. Against the AI anything is possible, particularly if you try to exploit the rules (like landing half a dozen panzer divisions and racing through undefended US heartland knowing that you *might* force a US peace / puppet before they are destroyed). But be warned - AI is improving all the time;)

I picked up a wargame about 12 years ago called "SS Amerika". It dealt with the invasion of the US by the Nazis and the Japs. I think the basic premise in the game was that Great Britain had been overun and FDR had lost the '36 election.

i know ss amerika as well ( even know Ty Bomba the developer ). The Point in REALISM is even if you could land a few divisions in the USA the national guards are more then enough to beat you ( because of the mass of them) There are so many americans even if you give every 20th of them a musket rifle it would be enough:D .

In the 30's you could enlist the cosa nostra. It had the guns, the people and the organization. :D

Anyway, how large was the national guard in the 30's? The USSR had millions of people too, even enlisted and supposedly trained, that didn´t really hinder the germans until they got bogged down in Stalingrad (not counting the small setback outside Moscow).

Although I really can´t see how the Germans could transfer a large enough invasion force to Mexico without the US finding out.
