I decided to try edit a save file (in the new patch), and followed the general internet instructions (used the windows file explorer instead of WinRAR, and later used 7zip when I couldn't get the saves to work; used notepad++ with UTF-8) on how to do so.
However, when I used the windows explorer to remove/add the gamestate file from the .zip-converted .sav file and restored the save to the correct format, any attempt to load the save would result in the loading stopping almost instantly, and then CTD. Using 7zip just gives me a "BROKEN SAVE FILE" warning instead.
Anyone know what steps I'm missing that's causing any edits whatsoever to kill the entire save file?
