unable to sell province

I just played a game in demo as Venice. Just for fun, before finishing, tried to sell some of my provinces, first to Ottoman Emp., then to Austria. I made several offers - for 500, 399, 20, and finally for 0 ducats. NOthing happened whatsoever! No acceptance response, no refusal ever received. As the diplomat was sent, the political message buttons were disabled for the target country, and just re-enabled after 1 month.. but I remained in possession of my provinces. I was offering provinces directly neighbouring those countries!

Also, noticed that yesterday when playing for France, Brittany was competely ignoring my vassalization offers - like I never sent them.. no acceptance, no refusal, the political screen just blinked when I clicked on it.

(Hint: If it's not a core province, and not of their primary/accepted culture they are not very likely to accept)

Did you setup message "Another nation refuse our vassalization offer" (Im not sure about proper spelling) to show it in popup window? May be by default it appears only in history log.

I also had a problem with this - after taking over Armagnac, I tried to sell it to my ally and personal union leader France as Brittany, with the right culture and a core of France and everything. I never got a refusal or anything, but I still had the province so I figured the price was too high and I just somehow missed the refusal notification. So I tried again at half the price, and it crashed the game. Which was sad since there is no autosave on the demo.

I wonder about countries not being interested in provinces. I played through as France yesterday, and since Austria would not give up the three provinces I asked for (64% score worth), I finally accepted their offer of five provinces I didn't want plus them removing three cores. I figured I could give away their western provinces to other HRE states with cores on them. No such luck. Even when trying to sell for 0 ducats to a nation with a core on the province, my offers were ignored. Austria herself was uninterested in buying back the provinces for the bargain basement price of 0.

Why wouldn't a country accept a province on its border, core, for 0 payment?

It is clearly a bug in the AI ! Any human playe would have accepted it no matter the province or the culture or religion i'm sure( just park a couple of regiments there and forget about rebellions, plus it would be one place to use those 5 stuck missionaries you have no real use for 98% of the time). So, the AI should do something along those lines and make it interesting to play the game.

In anyway, even if it didn't want the province - it should show a proper refusal, like it does for any other declined diplo offer.

I experienced the exact same thing, I played as England and tried to sell Calais to the French. I eventually offered it for 0 ducats, but no dice. They didn't even officially decline the offer or anything, at least not that I saw.

Same here. I offered Breisgau to both the Swiss and their German neighbors and got no response. Not a refusal, just no response.

The lack of response when a country refuses an offer to buy a province is a bug in the demo build. It should be fixed (don't recall if it was fixed for gold master or if it's a 1.1 fix, but it's been addressed).
