Unable to recruit divisions

when i try to recruit a division (as the US) it says culture : none and its in red
i have manpower and everything to build it... and i have free soldiers
any idea on how to solve it?

Pull down the culture menu. There should be other cultures available. I'm not sure why this happens, but it occasionally does, and all you should need to do is click on another culture.

I need more info.

Move your cursor to the manpower symbol and wait, when information shows up, tell me what you see.

e.g.
Yankee 1/10
dixie 2/20
etc. etc.

Then, tell me where you're trying to recruit and if there are any soldiers in the province you're trying to recruit, what culture are they?

Most likely either you have no soldier in that province or if you do, they belong to a culture where you can no longer build divisions based on that culture.

Are you trying to recruit in a particular state? Also which culture are your soldiers?

It is indeed possible. Every division must be supported from somehwere, and if you have no more cultures to draw from, you'll need to convert more soldier POPs. It isn't a bug, it's WAD.

You can support one division of a culture for every 10k men in a soldier pop BTW.
