I downloaded the game from steam, and installed it. Everytime I try to play it I get the launch screen, click, "Play CKII". Then the launch window closes......then nothing. I'm I missing some steps?

Please do the following:
First, run Visual C++ 2010.
Second, run Visual C++ 2010 SP1.
Third, run the DirectX (web) installer.
When that is done, go to Windows Update and make sure you have downloaded all .NET updates Windows Update shows you.
