Unable to give desired colonial provinces to ally

I am currently in a war with Portugal with England as my ally.
They were promised land but now they say they do not want it (I checked the list of desired lands, they still desire it).
Giving the occupation of desired land to any of their colonial nations does not change that, it's the same no matter what.
They desire it but no one wants to take it.
Could it be that the problem lies in Englands nearest colony being in Colombia and the desired provinces are in the Peruvian and La Plata area?
Any suggestions what to try?

Did you try to give the occupations to England instead of their CNs?

Yes
I Alt+F4d the game to try giving occupation to England and their Colonies.
It is the same no matter who has the occupation.

Do you still have the save from before you changed the occupations? If you attach it here, I can have a look at it and maybe find out what England would accept

I checked your save. England would accept none of the provinces. But if you give England the occupations of all the provinces which are mentioned in the tooltip, they won't lose trust anymore. IIRC this was implemented to make sure that there is really nothing that the AI would want
