I was playing a game as France and I decided to fund pretender rebels during the war of the roses. A few months later I attacked England to take back the rest of France from them. I moved my units on to the rebels in anticipation that I would attack them but... that never worked out. My units and the rebels I funded won't fight each other and since I've won the war I have a 10k stack of rebels sitting in alençon not doing anything. Any commands or other ways to get rid of them? If so let me know.

Rebels don't fight their sponsors, that's WAD.

So how do you get rid of them? As rebels will fight each other, I suggest encouraging rebels (eg by lowering autonomy) of a type that may be interested in liberating Alencon.

Repeatedly anger an estate by revoking alencon till the rebels you CAN attack win the province.

just let them be they are harmless and actually you may cripple england by doing so... disaster demands all pretender rebels to be dead to end war of roses so if you keep them england will keep spawning pretender rebels never ending :)

Actually having this occur in a Byz game I started on a whim. Byzantine rebels formed in Venetian Corfu, but they were too few to siege down the fort, so all 8000 just sat there for a few years (keep in mind, I didn't sponsor them). Eventually, I went to war with Venice, sent a couple of thousand men to Corfu to assist the rebels in siegeing down the fort, and took the province in the peace. Now there are 8000 rebels peacefully encamped on Corfu for what seems to be eternity. Thanks for the free garrison, but will these guys ever disappear, or go somewhere to do something useful?

Just be glad you aren't playing EU3, where sponsoring rebels was actually a viable (effective/worthwhile) part of your strategies, and was done all the time. And occasionally, things like this actually could become a real problem. Patriots, nationalists, and so on... running around, crossing borders. And you can't kill them, even though you need to. And now they're wiping out your vassal's army... oh, great.

Sometimes it was the Wild West, with these rebels. You're just getting a small taste. A very small taste.
