Some games I am unable to cast all the spells I have researched, even though they have no religious requirement and I have adequate mana - they don't even show up in the spell book. It seems to be erratic, and I'm not sure if this is by intent (race dependent), or a bug.

Specific spells I have noticed myself unable to cast some games are:
- Mana spring
- Prosperity
- Vampiric weapon enchant
- Agile mind

As you can imagine, these are pretty frustrating to not be able to cast when you research them in a game you've spent hours on.

On a related note, I find that when I cast buffs on Wolves of Helia nothing happens - is this a feature of their elemental immunity, a bug or something else?
EDIT: Found the answer to the Helia issue in another thread

thanks for any help

If you are sure having them researched AND it is not a known bug, there is just one thing left - you filtered for a specific kind of spells and forgot to switch off that filter.

see the responses (including mine) from this forum topic
http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/showthread.php?623957-Memory-leak-in-1.2.2
(you must be registered to see it).

Essentially there is a DOUBLE ARROW button on the lower right frame of the spell book to toggle you between VERTICAL SCROLL (the 'safe' way to see all spells) and the left/right fancy arrows (flip pages like a book, but this mode is thought to be buggy and cause a memory leak = slow down over time).
