Unable to access previous patches (1.30.6)

Hi all,
I know most of us are very disappointed with the release of Leviathan and the patch 1.31. I was attempting to return back to a previous patch (1.30.6) but upon startup the game immediately crashes with the following error message

Unhandled exception C0000005 (EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION) at address 0x00007FF67F69DC2F

I've looked across the forums, reddit, and even to see if it was an issue with my own computer. However, no solutions that have worked for others works for me. 1.31.1 works perfectly fine for me without any issues, it's only when I try to access any previous patches that this happens.

I do not have any mods installed, have updated my drivers, have done a complete reinstall of EU4 by deleting all files off of my computer, and have restarted my computer multiple times.

I spent 2 hours yesterday trying to get 1.30.6 working. I had to remove the game, remove all installed steam mods from its directory, unsubscribe to everything and then install the fresh game again.

Same. I already went back to 1.30.5 a few weeks ago because I expected the new DLC not to work, and didn;t want the auto-update to happen. But my 1.30.5 savegame is inaccessible now.

Jeez that's alot of work.

I may just say goodbye to eu iv. Its pretty clear they treat their consumers like trash.

Same. I already went back to 1.30.5 a few weeks ago because I expected the new DLC not to work, and didn;t want the auto-update to happen. But my 1.30.5 savegame is inaccessible now.

1.30.5 was withdrawn after like 1 day, almost certainly you were on 1.30.4 or 1.30.6

Most likely just deleting the Documents/paradox interactive/eu4/ folder would have done it; that is usually necessary when reverting major game patches.
