Living in Washington makes your hate of 'Oregoinians' and 'Idaho...ians' grow every day. ;)
So I thought, "Hey MacRobert, what if you made a map of the United States, only not United, thus Un-United. Well I made the map, added resources, capitols, and then National claims. Yes this even has Alaska to an extent.

A few states didn't make it though, the map wont fit Maryland, Rhode Island, and all those other Wacky yet small states. Right now I am just adding Armys and after that I will change the names of the countrys to states.

Anyway I thought I would announce it or something

I thought about adding Canada but it might screw things up, I could just see Canada laying the smack down on Montana and Maine. If I add Canada, Mexico will want in, and if I add Mexico, then Cuba and Russia want in, if I add them then Spain and the small island of Iacnolgo will want in, etc etc.
Anyway I will talk more on Monday.

No its not historical! I am just talking about a state war here, that means North and South Dekota will still have troops on the boarders, and little ol' Lousiana will become the supreme intellect, what ever works.

Washington, the granola state

Flakes and nuts. The state is crawling with them. Not to mention the worst drivers in the Northwest. I mean, what could possibly be appealing about a state which:

- has a sales tax
- forces people to pump their own gas
- has a hard-on for building badly-constructed overpriced sports domes
- thinks coffee is a substitute for beer
- is second only to California as a home for aging Boomers in shiny SUVs (think 'flies' and 'shit' here)
- and is convinced that their pseudo-liberal clap-trap somehow makes them morally and intellectually superior to the other 49 states.

On the other hand, I'd love to play a War Between the States game just so I could bitch-slap these whining yaps into next week. A few decades of abject slavery might do them some good, under the lash of Oregonian masters...after those twits in California were stomped under my boot heel first, of course....

Other than the blank section of map for most of the West, I personally think the EU2 engine would be better for this than the HOI one....

Perhaps split the states into clusters, with each owning 5 or 6 states themselves with claims on every bordering state around it. Make sure to split them up into the different ideological camps too so they eventually start getting into wars. Just an idea.

Well, the feeling is more than mutual in Ohio. In fact, we even have a nice song, which we sing to visiting Michigan fans every-other year at the good-old 'shoe.

We don't give a damn for the whole state of Michigan...

why don't we split up the US like this:

Washington, Oregon, Nevada, Arizona, Utah, Idaho could belong the WSA ( Western States of America , a new nation if u haven't noticed! ). California should be independent ( did i spell it right? ).
New Mexico and Texas could be controlled by Mexico, or the could be included in the USA, wich controlls the rest of North America. Maybe CSA could be included, but Í think Florida should be independent too like California.

So what do u guy's say? Is it a good idea, or bad....??

EDITED: If you want a screenshot of the so called Un-United State, i'll post it as soon it's been completed.:)

Well, again, I got here too late for the party, it would appear. :(

I have been developing an Axis and Allies variant called CWII: the second Civil War, based on a map of the US and predicated on a conflict in the late 20th century between Texas and the Federal Gov't over Oil rights. Of course since in the time that I have been designing it, Texas has become the federal gov't :p that scenario is now dubious I will of course have to come up with a better backstory.

My factions in the game are as follows:
USA: ME, MA, VT, NH, CT, NJ, PA, NY, VA, NC, HI, Puerto Rico Pensacola (Naval Base) and a Sonoran Air Base.
Federated Texan Repub: Texas, OK, NM, AL, AR, TN, AK, LA, (except New Orleans)
Pacific Trade Combine: CA, WA, OR, NV (except Las Vegas),
Great Lakes Allegiance: IL, MN, WI, MI, IN, IA, MO
The rest of the states, barring the Free South (roughly analogous to a neutralized CSA) belong to a higly disorganized group of Bandit Kings, Gypsies, Opportunists, Militia, Seperatists, etc calling itself the
Radical Free Element.

But, at any rate, I would love to see a mod (any mod) of HoI that featured a fractured US, even the screenshots in the other forum (American Empire?) were enough to make me drool.
So if there is anything I can do to help with the project, let me know :)
My experience with editing HoI is truly minimal (I have played around with the Editor but it intimidates the heck out of me)
but my enthusiasm knows no bounds.
Thanks
-ZC

This souns cool, though I advocate the inclusion of just Mexico and Canada also, being that they might like to intervene in the conflict somehow. Game goal could be like unite the U.S., but also have to prevent Canada and Mexico from taking over. Then, if you succeed, take them over!:D

Yes, a fine idea. In my board game, Canada and Mexico come into play as follows (easily modeled in a HoI mod by someone more crafty than I)
Canda gives a 5 IPC bonus (could be modeled as trade deal, etc) to USA as long as USA does not attack Canada or the GLA

Mexico gives a similar bonus to Texas.

So any player attacking Canada and Mexico will disrupt the finances of the USA or Texas respectively, although both nations start nominally neutral. :)

In the board game the indeps "frenzy" every once in a while (AI is hard to simulate in a board game innit?), pouring out of their territory in an attempt to make a last stand (and alleviate overcrowding) and one of the more humerous playtesting scenarios included a Canada completely subjugated by the Mormons, who poured out of Utah and made a beeline North
Thanks
