Spain is seeming to resemble itself as it was back when it was an empire (its ownership of a part of southern France, southern Italy, etc). Also, Yugoslavia looks like it has a very nice little empire to sit on.
Now, onto predictions. I doubt Poland will win, it is stretched out farther than it can stand. Those Swiss (or rather, Alsacians) are very tough-looking, and those Germans still aren't dead. Meanwhile, Poland is looking kinda weak compared to mighty Ukraine.
The way things are going, China, Japan, GLR, and Argentina seem to be reasonably safe. Yugoslavia, the Czechs, and the Spaniards all have powerful positions, but only due to their diplomatic positions and lack of enemies (if, for example, Britain goes after Spain, the Spaniards might be in trouble). Algeria is a toughie, but might be defeated if it gets surrounded by enemies or attacked by a powerful empire, say, Britain expanding the way it did in USD1. Ukraine is more or less secure, unless its neighbors all attack it or Poland suddenly goes nuts.
