What are the details of the UK surrendering event in ARMA 1.3?

I'm playing as Germany, it's 1940, I installed Vichy France and I'm not at war with USA or USSR. I've taken all of mainland UK except Stornoway and Northern Ireland. How much more do I have to do? I've tried looking at the event files but can't seem to find it, and I never normally launch an early Sealion.

Thanks in advance

IC: Their currently OWNED provinces
VP: Same with IC

So I have to have taken from them an amount of IC equal to 75% of whatever it is they have left?

For example, say UK has 100 IC at the start of the game. In 1940, I take 50 of these IC. They are left with 50 themselves. 50 is 100% of 50, so that would be enough, is that right? Or would it be that they have 100 IC and I need to take 75 IC to have 75%

Sorry, I just can't quite get my head round it.

Finyou2 basically explained most of it (BTW the Not at war with USA OR USSR is the one that usually prevents this from firing).
The 75% VP/IC thing seems to be the one you are having problems with. It is based on OWNED (not controlled) provinces. So basically if they OWN provinces with a total 100 IC (or VP) and only control provinces with less than 25 IC (or VP) then that condition is met. It needs to be met for both IC and VP (as well as the others already listed) for the event to fire.

Cheers guys, what is the difference between owned and controlled provinces? When I hover the mouse over ANY province, it says 'x province is controlled by x country' How much territory would I normally have to take in a game for the event to fire? Please don't tell me I'm going to need an Africa/India campaign

EDIT: Ok I found out what owned/controlled is. Oh my god this is going to be a struggle. Is there an event to get Italy in the Axis? And can I get rid of Britain before Pearl Harbor? That was the only real reason why I launched Sealion

Cheers guys, what is the difference between owned and controlled provinces?

Rightful owner of the province.
Province is not occupied.
Berlin is not occupied, you own it.
Assuming you accepted Vichy event, Paris is owned by you, not occupied.
By clicking province, you see there one or two flags:
One flag, owned
Two flag, occupied

When I hover the mouse over ANY province, it says 'x province is controlled by x country' How much territory would I normally have to take in a game for the event to fire? Please don't tell me I'm going to need an Africa/India campaign

IIRC By occupying Britannia and northern Ireland is enough, haven't played vanilla for a while...

Controlled by you is any province you hold, whether it is your own (national) or taken from the enemy by force. Owned provinces are those belonging to your country as long it is not annexxed.

If you play Sov and Germans take Kiev then it is still owned by Sov, but controlled by Ger (therefore displays the German flag over the Soviet one in the window on the left). If you annexx a country the occupied ('controlled') provinces become 'owned' (though they will most often still not be 'core' provinces) and display only your flag then. This also happens in certain events, like after Bitter Peace lots of Soviet areas become German-owned.

edit: Emued

edit2:

Assuming you accepted Vichy event, Paris is owned by you, not occupied.

I'd say it's both owned and occupied then, though the 'owned' status is the decisive one. In the save the province number will appear two times for Ger then, for both "controlled" and "owned".

Yes, lets hope they have. But, America is going to join the war against me now. Crap... :( It shouldn't be this hard to do. It should go, England, Wales and Scotland are invaded, NI becomes part of Ireland, and the Empire declares it's independence. My last hope is that NI pushes me over the edge for 75% IC/VP

The most worthless surrender event in the game. If it fires you are pretty close to annexing them anyways, and what do you get? Two almost useless provinces and they become fascist, but not allied to you, oh joy. Then you lose all those nice conquered terratories. Just annex or garrisont he place with some mobile reserves or heavy duty garrisons with coastal fortifications, because the USA/UK goes for them first. Funny how they hardley ever seem to invade France yet they got nuts over taking back the British Isles. It's also kind of a pain to defend convoys to Northern Ireland, I tend to leave it alone and use as a place for my planes to do target practice on convoys while waiting to invade the USSR.

Wouldnt call it worthless since you can get uk into axis after the event. Im hard pressed to find a better ally for germany then uk.
