I recently began my first game as the UK. Couldn't face the hassle of all the fronts before. I'm plaing on ve/f, cause i need alot of IC i reckon...and i ihave more resources then most, so why not? Using the Industrial Specialist., and administrative genius, and so boosted my IC to about 460...yea.
Got about 60 inf and 10 marine, with 10 mot+arm. loads of interceptors in UK, and bombers+torpedo planes in the med and africa. A massive navy to be envied by everyone except well, the US as usual.
So its sept 40, and i've basically completely destroyed the Italians in Africa, and the French have strangely seiazed much of their african provinces. The Italian navy is now 8 subs and a crappy battleship. Dunno how that happened to be honest...but my 40 ships destroyed their 90...which is pretty weird. Never really played a full-on naval power before, so covering convoys and attempting to draw them into a massive naval battle for me to trash them is quite fun.
So i've decided to go for the 'soft underbelly' of fortress Europe...italy. and maybe vichy. So just wondering how other ppl did things. Is invading mainland Europe a good idea in 1940?
