Species/Faction Bio:
The Alcarians are a subset of Humans who left the planet in the mid-21st century following a man who believed that technology and spirituality could, and should, work hand-in-hand to further the human species. They have no direct worship structure, but do have several "deities" that are important, most of which based on viewable or tangible concepts or objects. The sun, Solus, of the home system of the Alcarian Imperium, for instance, is commonly referred to as if it was a living entity. The universe itself, Everys, is also referred to similarly, though more in an abstract sense of all life being connected through unseen bonds. The people of the Alcarian Empire left Earth in 13 colony ships that were well equipped. Two ships were lost during the journey to their new home; one was lost to seemingly inexplicable reasons, while the other was lost to a hull breach caused by stellar debris and dust. As a result, many took the number 11 to be a inportant number, both culturally and spiritually. After arriving at the planet they would name Alcar, after their leader Alcarius, they began to quickly construct homes, workplaces and entertainment areas.
The Alcarians began researching, and learning, about more advanced technologies while encouraging their citizens to explore the more spiritual aspects of their existence. When FTL drive sciences and technologies were finally developed, Alcarius II ordered the construction of ships to expand their territories and understanding of the universe. Most Alcarians have no objection to slavery, so long as the slaves are treated with dignity and respect. Most of the sentient denizens of Alcar Prime also wholeheartedly believe in the needs of the many outweighing the needs of the few, or one.
