SO i have been playing the Uk, going down the Kings Party, and Uniting the Empire into the Imperial Federation, for the Achievement Run. And so i also have been watching guides on Youtube, Now I have the achievement "To Last A Thousand Years".
The meat of this post is about the difference between what i have been doing and what the Guides have been doing and I am wondering why all the guides say to do it their way (which is the same between guides)

Anyway i go down the Kings party path and loose the Uk Vassals, and then go to Appeal the Loyalists and Bring the Dominions back into the fold.
After i get that far i push the buttons that cause the Formented Rebellion in Each of the Dominons (starting with Canada) And Join their Wars. Some don't get done until after the start of the First War, but that is ok. So after i am done i have 4 integrated puppets, because that's what your Imperialist rebel vassals are.

But the Guides show you outright conquering and either Releasing them back or making them puppets in Wars of Conquest.

My question is, is there any reason to do it through Conquest and puppeting, verses Formenting the Rebellions. It seems to take the same amount of time, and to Unite the Empire the Dominons have to be integrated Puppets anyway, this way you're not spending like 400 political power per puppet.. Or am i wrong to do this?

My understanding is that, at the time most of those guides were written, fomenting loyalist rebellions could cause the former dominion to be stuck with the (incorrect) country tag for the rebels. Meaning that the Federation would automatically fail, since there was no (for example) "Country_tag = CAN" to accept the offer anymore, "CAN" having been replaced with "D01" by the revolt event and not reconciled.

No idea if that's been fixed, either.

is that why, :O
I pushed the button and united the british Federation with them, so apparently it's fixed, either that or it doesn't always happen.
The only problem i had was not getting Cores on South Africa, the United States (because i united my canada with the U.S. (got Cores on Canada, just not the U.S.... so you know i didn't get the good part)), and British Malaya... which i was given to understand is a common problem with post La Resistance games... it also sounds almost Random in how it acts too.... the cores bug that is.

So, first off, you're not supposed to get cores on Malaya, or on India for that matter. You're only supposed to get cores on South Africa if they've completed the focus "Police Windhoek" and even then Transvaal is specifically excluded. You also don't get cores on any other territory e.g. the remaining British possessions in Africa etc.

When you say you "pushed the button" do you mean you took the "Imperial Federation" focus? At that point, were the imperialist dominions your puppets or had you annexed them? If this focus did annex the imperialist tags then there may have been a "fix" of sorts (specifically in the function of annex_country with respect to revolter tags) although the script still leaves some gaps.

Most notably, the North American Dominion decision is scripted to take this (and related issues) into account and accordingly assigns the USA cores to Imperialist Canada if relevant. However, the Imperial Federation does not take revolter tags into account, this is why you only got Canada proper's cores. Similiarly, if you want to do shenanigans with New Zealand -> Polynesia or even South Africa -> Mutapa (as previously mentioned, requires the AI to take Police Windhoek to matter) you need to use the original tags.

Is it possible to get cores on india and south africa? Btw, delete some of your navy so that the USA navy is bigger, gives you instant wargoal at start of game. You can then play democratic, then do the world police focuses...

It is not possible to get cores on India through the Imperial Federation. Getting cores on South Africa (sans Transvaal) is easy though: turn on Historical AI focuses and they will take Police Windhoek very early.

Btw, delete some of your navy so that the USA navy is bigger, gives you instant wargoal at start of game. You can then play democratic, then do the world police focuses...
This is not exactly how it works although it's close. The London Naval Treaty does not give wargoals directly on other signatories (such as the USA) and you shouldn't bother with the decisions that target them (it just costs them some PP and stab). But what you can do is target a South American minor like Brazil or Argentina, because the USA starts off guaranteeing the entire western hemisphere under the Monroe Doctrine.

If the target is not democratic (which is why I specified Brazil and Argentina; these also start with some capital ships), there is a 30% chance they will refuse outright and give you a wargoal. Even if they "commit" to disarmament, the AI doesn't seem to understand how to do this so every signatory gets a wargoal on them after 30 days. This means you'll probably have to share the spoils of victory with Japan and maybe France but you can sweep them up later; you could also in principle keep restarting till you get the 30%.

One of the reasons I always outright conquer the Dominions and India is that you can get them all in one war.
Another is that you get to skip a whole lot of focuses and only have to take the last focus if you conquer the land.

Annexing them and at the same time running collaboration missions in the USA will speed up your run so that you will be done with the North American war before Germany declares on the Soviets. This allows you to destroy the Germans while they are bashing their heads against the Soviets.

Sidenote.
Allow the Germans and Italians to take land in Africa.
You only need to hold/take Gibraltar and Egypt and the lands in Asia.
This will spread out the axis troops and since you rule the waves this will take a lot of pressure of your frontlines :)

If you really like the taste of cheese (and are playing on ironman), puppet Egypt first and don't call them into the war. Italy and its faction partners will stack massive forces on the Egyptian border, then completely respect its neutrality.
