Jump drive equipped fleets should get an additional icon on their bar in the outliner next to their current activity icon. This would make playing the subspace drive civics much easier, and is probably easier to implement then jump-drive queuing.

Would be a very nice QOL feature for the subspace drive, the Jump Drive as well. Since they don't have time to get the pathing and multi-system queue working with the subspace drive, this would be a nice addition to alleviate all the babysitting you have to do.

I came here to open this exact same suggestion, and I feel like I have not been here for ages.

Simply changing the icon or color for ships if they have no hyperdrive, but are on a jump cooldown would suffice already

So if it supposed to be challenging to manage subspace drive exploration, the challenge remains, but it is not simply outrightly annoying or seems like an unfinished feature.

plus, if wormhole and gateway etc. do not require hyperdrives in the mechanics

An icon that has an outline with rotational cooldown visual (a la Command and Conquer franchise) would be both space-efficient and visually informative. In fact, if the debuff to weapons wore off fractionally relative to the time remaining on the cooldown, that'd be nice...
