Hello guys.

I didn't play stellaris since 2.0 because of Dharma and so on, but now I'm on trying it. The problem is that UI seems to be broken somehow, so it's even smaller than I recall. This is how it looks

upload_2019-1-1_21-21-25.png

I tried to enable UI scale feature but my FPS drops trice down to unplayable 20fps with freezes all among the way.
I also tried to just use smaller resolution, but it doesn't make UI bigger, but only more blury.

Is there any way to play comfortable? As you can see only 1/3 of my screen if filled with resources/etc, the rest is just an empty space. Literally unplayable.

Anyone else get the feeling that the interface was designed for 1600 X 900?

I just don't understand why it doesn't work unlike for all other games. Stellaris itself gets start screen buttons resized based on your resolution, but in-game UI always looks like it was designed for eagle eye people.

I don't get why icons are so small when they occupy only 50% of width (top panel) and height (left panel).

Okay, we are in this situation, I can grumble about it but it's here as it is. What is the solution? How can I get *normal* UI without getting game slow down to 15 pictures per second.

There's a UI Scale slider in the Options menu. It says experimental, and some of the screens will not format the text properly, but it mostly works. I set mine to 1.3 and that seems a good compromise between too-small and too-distorted. It's just the fleet management screen that gets hard to navigate.

I have written about it in my first post. It works, but game becomes unplayable since I get 10fps instead of 60.

Or you hget the tiny UI mod to get the UI even more tiny...
Defenitely gonna try it. Thank you

Whoops, so I see you did. Sorry about that. I didn't notice an FPS change when I enabled it, but maybe I'll see a speedup if I turn it back off - I'll try that. Though it's probably a moot point, since I can't read it when it's that small.

If exi123 is referring to the TinyOutliner mod, that's one I'm also using but I don't think it makes the font any larger. It does a great job of condensing the data in the Outliner so you don't need to scroll up and down as much.

Easy workaround:

Rightclick on Desktop -> display settings -> pick your monitor if there are more than 1 -> second option is scaling. Put it on 150% or even 200%. It affects your desktop and in my case ingame UI scaling. :)

edit: just to mention. This works for many games.

I already do it, I actually have 175%. But I disable it for most games because they go nuts with it.

However, I should probably re-enable it for stellaris. Thank you, gonna try that.
