Hello!

I've heard very good things on Stellaris and I decided to purchase it on GOG, considering that they currently have a summer sale. I'm currently fiddling with the game, but there's one problem...

Basically - the font size used in UI. Specifically, the font that is used in the empire creation system for the context messages, empire history etc. From what I can see, it's the main font used in the game... and it's way too small for me! Seriously, after trying to read it for a dozen of minutes or, I can feel one of my eyes shutting off :\

Yes, I do have eyesight problems and yes, I do use glasses. Still, small fonts are my eyes' bane - I really need to be careful with them, otherwise I end up with huge migraines.

And so, my question: is there a way to increase the font size? It's absolutely necessary for me, if I am to play this game... Help!

There is a UI scale option in the settings, did you try it? I'm not sure, never tried it, but I think it will allow you to enlarge/reduce the whole UI including the font size.

In main menu go to options then to Graphics (or gameplay) and change the UI size to bigger!

Hm. I tried it... the problem is, it breaks the UI a little (like, some elements don't fit the screen) - and, more importantly, everything looks very blurry when scaled. I don't think it solves the problem...

I did some more experiments yesterday. I tried running Stellaris in a lower resolution than my desktop, but it didn't help - the fullscreen mode got me a massive black border and the window mode gave me a window that couldn't be maximized to full screen...

As far as I can tell, the only way of getting bigger text is running the game in a low-resolution window and zooming it in using Windows' zoom-in feature... It's not a good solution, though. Can anyone help me out in finding a better one?

Is there any solution to this problem by now?
I don't want to change UI scaling, just increase the font size, or at least change the font to another one, while still being able to do achievements.

longstanding problem, original poster, and I agree. the game was designed for 1080p on a 24" monitor. I play at 1440p on a 27". I dislike the eye strain it induces. The upscaling blur / UI errors are also problematic.

I've given up on this being fixed in Stellaris, but it really needs to be fixed for Stellaris 2. A larger-font, 1440p native UI.
