Two questions to be asked here: What happened to France and Burgundy? I unfortunately saw none of this unfold because I was too busy snow plowing Novgorod and Kazan.

Did England win the 100 year's war or what? I'm confused. That doesn't explain the breakup of Burgundy though.

1490 Spain? Yea, this is modded. Nobody has admin 10 by then.
For the rest, they obviously lost wars and had to release nations. Not hard to figure out.

What settings are you playing on ? Are you using any mods ? It seems like you play on Hard (very agressive AI) with lucky nations off (no bonuses for France etc.)

As it's been 46 years that's enough for all of this to happen, even though i've never seen england gaining ground on France, but i've certainly seen france being blown up by minors like this (in one of my games with lucky nation off, i had a huge hainaut sprung from Burgundy that managed to eat half of france). Seeing BOTH france and burgundy exploding at the same time is quite a rare sight too.

What i don't understand is indeed the presence of spain. Castille can't have inherited aragon with a PU since the timeframe is too short, so the only way it could happen is if castille fully annexed aragon and grenada, formed spain with the decision, and then aragon got released later by rebels or a war defeat.
But that string of unprobable events is sure very odd.

edit : oh right spain require tech 10 so it's not possible to happen in a regular game.

Yea, Admin 10's base time is 1531. over 40 years ahead of time is far beyond the 999 cap possible to advance to it.

Yeah. I'm using mods but I don't think it really modifies anything inside of Europe.

I've played 2 other campaigns with this mod and this hasn't happened.

Well it removes the ADM Tech 10 requirements to form spain, for starters.

The mod description isn't very specific, it says there's not as much changes to europe than the ROTW, but it doesn't go into details and instead link to obsolete mods for EU3, which doesn't give any information of what it does.

So yeah, basically it's in part the mod's fault if everything went FUBAR.

10 adm tech requirement seems to be removed from the decision according to tooltip. So after the decision Aragon released with all her provinces except roussilion?

The diplomatic way transforms Aragon into a vassal if it is under personal union of Castille, there's no automatic anexing, and you have to annex it like any other normal vassal with a diplomat after forming Spain with just Castille. I'm not sure with the tech requirement, but I think it's WAD from vanilla, as getting a personal union between both requieres lots of luck or the iberian wedding event wich is already arround these dates.

Also, it's 1490, just 2 years prior to the discovery of America, so I find it quite logical and historical.
