Can someone please tell me what's going on here? I started an Italy game in the 1936 scenario (Ho12 DD 1.3a). Everything was going normally at first - the Spanish Civil War started, and at one point it looked like the Republicans were going to win, so I made an alliance with the Nats and made sure they ended up winning. After that, the important events kept happening. Japan went to war against Nat China, Austria had the Anchluss, Germany got Sudetenland, ect. Then after that, nothing. Germany never went to war with Czechoslovakia, Poland never joined the allies, and I didn't even get the event to go to war with Albania. Germany and Poland did go to war, and the Molotov-Ribbentrop pact went through as normal. Then things stopped happening again. Since Poland never joined the Allies, the war never started. Then when Germany didn't declare on Belgium and Netherlands on May 10th like it was supposed to, I realized there was something seriously wrong.

At first I thought it may have been my alliance with Nat Spain that threw the events off, but the Anchluss, Sudetenland, Molotov-Ribbentrop, ect all happened after the SCW was over. So is there something wrong with my events file? I'm not using any mods, and I did look in the events file once, but I didn't change anything. Can someone elaborate?

Almost all of the events that you are describing have a percentage chance of not happening as they historically did.

This is to add some variety into the game.

you will have to go back and look at your game files in the history to see if something went different than normal.

After Germany gets the Suden they are supposed to demand the rest of the Czech part in/around March 15 1939. I bet that did not happen (Germany probably chose do not escalate the confict etc).

If this is true then the Allies will not try to get Poland into the allies and well you know the rest.

When i want to play a strict historical game i make sure that i save the game near important events (like Austria, Suden, Czech partition etc) and reload if it does not go the way i want it.

I recently had a game in which Germany not only didn't take the Sudetenland and the rest of Czechoslovakia but it chose to back down at the Danzig or war event (only to declare war on Poland anyway a few hours later..).

Regardless, as both France and the UK guarantee the independents of Poland, they should declare war when Germany attacks (in fact I'm not certain of it, as in that particular game I played as France and declared war myself). You could always activate the relevant events manually (look in the wiki) or simply load the game as Germany and declare war on the allies.

Nice thought. But given that the game is designed in a way that it only really works if everything goes 100% historically its stupid.
Warless WW2 game. Great.

I'm pretty sure you can start the war somehow, and it leaves open the possibility for a completely different war.

I'm on my first game of the full campagin and I never got any of Czechslovakia for some reason, even though I clicked the right events and it's May 1939...

Probably an answer for that somehwere around here, I'll look when I get back.

Yes you could. But it turns the AI braindead. Even by its own standards.

Thanks for the help from everyone, but I came up with my own solution. The obvious one. I restarted and everything went as planned. It's probably better this way since I think I built up better during the peacetime.
