I recently started 1936 game as Switzerland on N/A.

Focused on infantry and air power, and by 1940 had a decent force. After the Germans clobbered the Poles and overran the low countries, I joined Axis the instant they crossed the border into France. Catching the French totally off guard, I mowed them down, and took Lyon and Marseille within a week.

Paris fell faster than ever. Trouble was, I hadn't taken Grenoble, Turin, or the province south of Grenoble. Thus, they went to Vichy France. So I DoW'd the Vichy and claimed that little corner of France. Then I built ships, failing to realize France hadn't been annexed, so I couldn't deploy them, since Marseille is not legally mine.

Ouch.

So I've got a transport in my force pool (I cancelled the others in the queue) that I can't deploy and it's soaking up precious TC. Anything I can do?

Also, what will happen when the Italians annex Vichy France? Will I lose my provinces? What about France? If I don't annex it, even though I hold a VP, will I lose Marseille? If I do I might as well just quit now since I'll be back to square one...

I could go with air transports to try to take their last 4 VPs myself, but time is definitely not on my side, and I'd have to research 4 techs and actually build the planes.

No, only those two provinces Italy has claim on will go to them, the rest of the Vichy territories occupied by you will go to you.

However, no one will be able to annex either France or Vichy France, as both of them have victory points outside the European continent, some of them in Asia, some in Africa, and some in the Americas...

I think you probably won't be able to deploy you ships, until the very late maybe when the Allies get rid of Vichy.

Sue for peace and get a good number of provinces...
You can always invade them later

I guess I'll just build some air transports. Time to train some Schweiz Fallschrimjagers!

Sueing for peace just feels lame. But it might be the only way to get those VPs before the Italians do.
