Uh, a little problem here...

I have encountered an annoying little problem. I'm playing as the Empress of a giant empire spanning from Spain to India. My youngest son is my heir (I have absolute cognatic ultimogeniture). His slut wife has been cheating on him and given birth to a daughter, who is listed as my dynasty!

Now comes the weird part. My youngest son is ethnically Greek, and so is his wife. But the child is Indian! She looks like an Indian girl! Is there no common sense here? I don't see any possible explanation except for cheating so why is this bastard still listed a my dynasty?

Of course now I want to execute them both, but that's a whopping -100 opinion for all my vassals for "tyranny".

A little help maybe?

Really really recessive genes? Climate change and increased UV exposure allowing for either some mutation of the embryo AND/OR a genetic preference for skin pigmentation that is better suited for UV ray protection?

Can't just rely on phenotypes to guess his ancestry.

I believe you can use Intrigue focus to prove the kid is a bastard and find the real father, but I don't know if that will let you "un-legitimize" her. (Probably not?)

I would guess as well that your character's son's wife has been cheating on him. He probably got the event to try figure out if the child was his and basically failed it.

I would probably plot to kill the wife so it doesn't happen again to your son. I'm not sure if you can plot to kill "your granddaughter", however you can always imprison her and then execute her and then your current character will receive the kin-slayer trait instead of your heir, or you could just wait for your son to have kids with his new and hopefully faithful wife since they will replace the bastard daughter in the line of succession since you have ultimogeniture.

You need to realize that the portraits are not a 1 to 1 representations of what your characters look like to other characters in game. They're just a nice UI element.

Does it actually say next to her character portrait that she's Indian, or are you going solely off of appearance?

You can tell, roughly, what ethnicity the character is by their portrait. What's listed next to the portrait is entirely irrelevant, as that's the culture and not ethnicity.
