U.S. Buyers

Will those of us in the U.S. be able to purchase the U.K version of the game? It sounds like ordering a game from Germany is a difficult process. Does anywone know if it's any easier to order one from the U.K.? If I could get an English language version of this game from the U.K., I wouldn't care if Paradox ever found a U.S. publisher.

Actually I don't think people in the UK speak English. I've had a few British coworkers and I usually can't understand what they're saying. But I suppose if they wrote it down I could read it unless they're talking about their home towns.

I personally haven't ordered anything from the UK so I don't know. I'd start by looking up the UK publisher itself and see if they or any retailers are accessible to online orders to the US.

Or you could get the Linux version from Tribsoft. I've known people that have gotten into Linux for similar reasons.

I live in Brazil, and i´ve already ordered a few things from british sites, mainly books. The question is: Will Europa Universalis be available in the larger brit sites? If so, then we can relax and celebrate.

Joking about what exactly? Not understanding British accents or getting the Linux version just to play EU?

If the latter, I remember when the first Quake 3 test came out and the Mac and Linux versions came out before Windows. Quite a few people installed Linux because they couldn't wait...And this was for a test.

If the former, then I'm joking a little bit. My English co-worker and I often trade jabs about what proper English is and sometimes I'll say 'What the hell did you just say?' just to bug him.

Hi, I'm new. Been reading for a while but now the English version has been announced thought I'd register.

The same thing happened with another German game: Sudden Strike. Most of the US guys ordered from www.Softwarefirst.com.

And before you ask, no I'm nothing to do with them. Just a satisfied customer.

Looks like a great game. Can't wait.

hey montgomery, i remember you from the SuSt forum! my nick there was Obergrenadier, i still check up on the forum every once in a while. took my advice and came to our forum eh? or did you just wander over? well about Sudden Strike, i have gotten sick of it already. i beat every campaign in two weeks, so i think it sucks. plus, i will NEVER buy a game published by CDV again. they are the worst publishing company i have seen. anyway glad to see you have come to our forum monty! btw, you are the same montgomery from the sudden strike forum right?

Sudden Strike is due to be released in US soon - January I think. It looks pretty good from what I've read on it.
You really hated that game? Good to hear another point of view.

Yep, it's me. I've only played the Allied and part of the German campain of SuSt so far. I like it, but can't tell whether it has long term playability yet.

I know what you mean about CDV. Did you see that erazor resigned as moderator? Some sort of bust-up with them.

Anyway, enough of SuSt, EU seems to be a really good game. Great depth and a different game each time even if you play the same country. If you've got it (?) have you played much? I've read some really good AAR's. I nearly bought the German version, even though I don't speak or understand a word, but now I'm going to wait for the English version. Sooner rather than later I hope.

It seems that there are as many flames on EU board as there was on SuSt, but they seem to be a little less rabid. Good to see, hear read you.
