Our Views on Present Eutopian Issues

W.E.T

The situation in W.E.T has been allowed to grow out of control yet the president or any of the government has failed to confront the issue. I believe that we should send military forces to return order to the area, we tried peaceful ways in which I was head of, but unfortunately it did not work, we should act quickly before we have an active civil war on our hands.

Military Modernization

Although a commission on this issue which ended successfully we must be active in modernization of our armed forces. The military should be fully volunteer and at least 150,000 fully trained men and 200,000-350,000 reserves.

Topa Uprising

This is connected to the W.E.T situation and it should be ended. Lt. Hansen should have a trial on Eutopian soil with both American and Eutopian representives.

Terrorism

Terrorism must be stoped to insure the safety of the Eutopian people as well as foreigners in other nations which might be affected by terroristic activity in our nation.

Overview of Political Parties

Moderate Party

I for one hold the MP highly for many reasons. They are fair, intelligent, hard working, and they are not hypocrites.

Rally for Democracy

I am glad that this party is still in existance but it needs major reform. It needs a better positioning system and it's members need to bring back the hard work that the party was well known for.

Other Parties

The other parties hold inferior beliefs which has been proven to not work in the present state of our human race. It is sad that we still have Monarchists and Communists.

I feel that the Eutopian people should know what the government is spending its money on.

If the U.D.A.P comes to power we will guarentee the people all knowledge that will not bring harm to them. For example, if the government released sensitive information to the public it might anger terrorist groups and or other groups against the government, so they might attack the people.

Under my leadership I will release secure information to the Eutopian people and make public all things that the government uses citizen money[taxes, etc] for.

I hope the UDA will not get pulled into a political power struggle by false testimony.

For the record, repeated attempts to claim a conspiracy relating to the Security and Analysis Wing (SAW) and its budget portfolio should be discounted as hogwash.

The President never made any decision to exclude the SAW from the MILE's portfolio. The current Eutopian Constitution, as amended by the third term parliament, did not specifically list the SAW as a ministry function. This decision was made by the many parties within the parliament, and if any thing motivated this description it was either sheer oversight or a belief that their duties were adequately described under "law enforcement".

In fact, it was the current administration which has kept the SAW running, despite its exclusion from the constitution, and maintained its funding.

As for keeping the SAW budget hidden, it has been clearly posted in the office of the MILE for any citizen to inspect and review (OOC: See INTERIM MILE thread, 4th term) and was one of my first acts as Acting MILE before the current minister assummed office.

Mr. Smith, your answer to the question posed to you was intelligent and fair. However the question itself was neither accurate nor fair. Please don't take this as a criticism of you or the UDA. We are only concerned with making sure you, and all Eutopians, receive fair and accurate information.

Im surprised nobody has any questions for me since a lot of people have dismissed my U.D.A.Pfor no good reason.

It's not a bad platform. I think people are holding you accountable to other statements made on other issues not in your platform, though. Or maybe they are suspicious based on the some of your buying sprees.

It does seem pretty clear on a lot of points, but maybe doesn't address all points people might be concerned with.

Don't get discouraged, many, many, many, many parties have come and gone in Eutopia formed by good people who contributed a lot. Sometimes its all about timing.

The MP was formed right about the time the old Free Republican party was dissolving and their leader disappeared. More moderate members of that party saw us as a better option than the, at the time, more radical option offered by the Conservative Coalition that seemed driven by nationalist policies. Same thing with some other parties that had been conservative in fiscal policy but very strong about protecting individual rights and liberties. They were folding and we filled the void.

But other times very good ideas have fallen by the wayside because people's demands were met by other parties.

Don't take it personal, just keep standing up for what you believe. Eventually you'll know the best place to make your contribution.
