Tyrant modifier randomly appear?

Ever since conclave, I've experienced vassals with the tyrant modifier appearing seemingly at random. Tyrant: -40, only a few vassals, the majority does not have this modifier, I have not gone against the council, I have not taken away any titles.. Exactly what actions can cause this modifier?

Right now, I have one single vassal with a Tyrant modifier towards me, only other negative is Imperial Administration -10, and all other vassals have no Tyrant modifier...

As far as I know, only thing that should give the modifier with -40 would be unjustified imprisonment, but that would make all vassals react.

I had the same happening. Quite annoying in Iron Man.

Perhaps they are the tyrants? If only one vassal has the -40, sounds more like that vassal imprisoned someone without cause and got the -40, not you. But I haven't seen this happen so can't confirm.

if he's a tyrant or not, I do not know, but it's a modifier on his relation towards me. That's certain. So unless tyrants hate their overlord, it's irrelevant.

Share a savegame and I will have a look at it, chances are it is right, but sometimes reasons can be hard to find.

This, there it seems to be a bug where you get a tyranny penalty for executing noble prisoners no matter what

You actually also get a -40 tyrant opinion modifier for using enforce peace, with the party that was winning the war, not the loser.

This is exactly what I was thinking caused the random tyranny with only some characters.

This! Thank you, I'm quite positive this is the answer I was looking for. When thinking back, I even remember actively taking the enforce peace because I wanted to prevent this vassal-king from increasing his expansion into another kingdom. I don't remember reading this in any tooltip? Maybe the "enforce peace" tooltip could display what vassals would consider this tyranny at this time...

Did you make an action that went against the council? Such as declaring war.

It also seems that the Extort Subjects decision linked to the Build a War Chest ambition that came with Conclave gives tyranny each time you extort money.

Just got the same. Out of nowhere. I definitely did not do any tyrannical actions. In fact, I randomly was at -40, I granted a few county/duchies, and I realized it went up to -60.
