Two types of "Activity" I'd like to see added: Public Executions, and Coronations

I feel like often, major rebellions don't have a satisfying enough end. You capture all of the rebels, and then you click the button, and they are dead. Just a little notification.

I'd like to make this into a grander thing.

Likewise, Coronations seem like an obvious candidate for being a larger-scale activity.

Do we think we're likely to see either of those in Tours and Tournaments?

Coronations, at least, they've said elsewhere that they do want to do and have for a long time, and that the new system will make them easier to do well, but there simply wasn't the room to do them this time around without cutting out something else important.

There is already an option to hold a public execution btw. You have to have a Court and an Executioner, and then it's an option that lets you gain control I think. I do agree that it would be cool to make more of an event out of it though.

It would be cool if AI agents (or the player) could use this system for assassinations or plots. Having that "risk" exposed of being targeted in public would prevent it of being a mindless reward-only system. Also, that way, the player actually has to think about who to employ for certain roles in an activity.

Perhaps staging a "victory parade" (like Roman triumph) after winning a war that can include grandiose executions, gifts and rewards for allies and participating vassal knights/commanders (gold, prestige, court positions, one of the conquered titles, etc), dispensation of looted chaff artifacts, effects for the conquered/defended lands based on the type of war (increase conversion in new counties claimed in holy war, absolute control for 15 years in counties that were happy to not be taken over by pagans), and, if not executions, chosing to belittle captured enemies or release them as public displays of benevolence?

I also don’t particularly want Grand Executions, but I hope it’s moddable enough that y’all can get what you want.
Why not? I think they are rather fitting in theme and certainly not ahistorical. (as far as i know)

Cornations would be tottally ok for me, but plz no public executions.

Why not public executions? Its fitting for those that committed grand treason or a dethroned king
As @jrfess pointed out, they are already in (when employing an executioner). Anything more (in terms of a "deeper" implementation) is dangerous terrain the game should not enter, IMO - and thats probably what @Trunting expressed as well (please correct me, if I read you false)

Personal discomfort with capital punishment as a person who comes from a country where such a thing still exists.

It’s no more sensible than any other preference; there’s certain absolutely contradictory and subjective lines for me on content that doesn’t squick and content that does. :)

Good point. Maybe something to be disabled via game rule. I bet you're not the only one with that problem, after all.

I don't think it's "worse" than all the human sacrifice and mass executions we already have, but that doesn't mean it couldn't be toned down via game settings.

Oh, like I said, it’s completely subjective and contradictory. It’s also why I want it to be super moddable, since that’s a thing that can add entertainment value for folks and in case it is added, it’s something I can remove from my own game.

If we’re talking about using resources for toning things down, I’d honestly want them to focus on something like incest instead. That’s far more likely to be an impediment for people to enjoy the game than something like a Grand Execution.

Honestly, I'm surprised no one's ever expressed discomfort nor has there been any controversy that both CK2 and CK3 explicitly let you have sex slaves, i.e., by forcing prisoners into concubinage. I'm guessing it's an obscure enough thing that it falls under most people's radar, plus there's no chance of the player character falling prey to it.

I think the main reason is that there are no gruesome visuals and also no graphic descriptions (i think).
So there is less of a problem than pretty much any episode of GoT.

Even a disable option (or the need to have to manually enable that feature from a default-off-setting) leaves the problem that this might shift the age rating for the game. Having something in the game in a fairly abstract way can make a lot of a difference compared to implementing that as a full-fledged feature.

I think it has to do with how much handwaving happens and how the details are ignored.

I do believe that the player being regularly at risk of playing someone who could be sexually assaulted would bring it to the foreground.

I don't want grand executions as a grand 3D scene or anything. Just a more elaborate event that has consequences for your realm and your rule.
