Why is von Falkenhausen listed as a leader of Nationalist China? (I'm playing 1.05), and why is Herbert Morrsion the UK HoG for the 1945 'elect left' option? (I'm sure it was Atlee in previous versions - someone appears to have changed it.)

Both of these are, needless to say, grossly ahistorical. :)

I am not sure you are correct.

There was a German named von Falkenhausen that was military advisor to Chaing Kai-Shek somewhere around 1930-38. I do not have exact dates. This German person did move around a lot.
I don't know for sure if he was officially a "field" general during this period, but clearly he was there in a substantial military function.

Do you know for sure this isn't the same von Falkenhausen? On what basis do you say this is grossly ahistorical (you sound pretty sure)?
Just wondering. Personally I would say the photo in the game looks like General von Falkenhausen photos that can be found on the net.

I just tried a cross check. Checked a list for the Pour le Mérite (http://www.pourlemerite.org/medals/oakleaves.html) and found a Falkenhausen that got this on the 15th of April 1916. That would fit into the guy in China as he got the Pour le Mérite for services done for the Turkish army during WW1.
In one source he was called Alexander, but in most records I have seen it is Ludwig (von Falkenhausen).

When I do a quick search, while I write this today, I find this page
http://www.feldgrau.com/china.html
Do a text search there on Falkenhausen please. Quite informative I think, even if it IS disturbing with the different sure names. I can't explain that.

I guess you are right about the Herbert Morrison issue.

There are some events in CORE that dont *seem* to work correctly invloving this mil leader. Check em out. We've had a few thread regarding leaders in the wrong country file.

If in doubt you are better off posting any leader complaint/question in the LEADERMODIFICATION thread under the MOD section.

See here for info on Alexander von Falkenhausen and the German military mission to China. I believe I read somewhere that German officers actually commanded Chinese troops in action against the Japanese in some early battles.

1.05c is the latest version, although I don't think it fixes the problems.
Falkenhausen is not a problem.
The minister problem should be posted in the Leader modification sticky thread in the mod forum (and Falkenhausen too if you still think it's a bug). That thread is the source of changes to leaders & ministers. May have already been fixed for the next patch.

I was aware of the Falkenhausen thing, but I thought that it would make more sense to have him as a a German leader. It's rather nonsenscial to have him as a specifically Nationalist Chinese leader, and especially for the whole game, where it's likely that Germany will actualy be at war with NC at some point.

I will reply the von Falkenhausen thing here and I see Vincent Julien has posted the Morrison issue on leader thread(and he is right Morrison must be replaced with Atlee who actually won the election)and that is what we are doing now..as I guess a few of you have seen...namely making exact and proper elections or changes of regime for each and every country(I wish though that´there were more followers to that rather complex and comprehensive event adding we are doing there) :) Funny enough Julien posted this just when I asked for some feedback on the changes I'm going to implement in Britain. In those elections Churchill will replace Chamberlain at the exact date, and Atlee replace Churchill, because we have not only been able to implement the coup d'etat's in the different countries but also the significant gov.changes like Winston taking over from Chamberlain, this will of course be done as a election AI event but with only one option in this case...pretty smart I would say...:)(actually two options because there will always be a Keep current for those who has taken an ahistorical route)

But I have drifted away from the issue I see...:) Perhaps a lot of the confusion stems from the fact that there were two with almost the same name von Falkenhorst Nikolaus the older is in the German file, and Alexander (the younger)(Falkenhausen) I have only used in Nat China because when he returned to Germany his military career was not exactly in the front line,He is however a very important man in Nat China file as it was him who at first reorganized Chiang Kai Shek's whole army.....and yes he actually did have a field command there.

birch23, jdrou, A very nice detail to implement a thing, a small detail, like that! Cool.
This kind of things adds a lot of flavour I think.

Seem like a good compromise to just remove him on that event.

Vincent Julien, I think you agree that "It's rather nonsenscial" is another thing than "needless to say, grossly ahistorical". I don't want to mark words, but I have seen soo many discussions of what is ahistorical or not... I hope you will forgive me :p
