Two questions about this picture

1. What is going on on the border of the Themlar Union and the Kingdom of Yondarim? It looks to me as if they're at war and Yondarim is occupying some systems.

2. I see 2 Tezhnids, a Confederation and a League? How does this work, exactly? Does it mean you have some special mechanics for civil war, maybe? Or something else?

1. Either that both races claim this system but do not own it yet, or simply not perfect borders due to alpha.
2. Tezhnid is a "phenotype" and those are two different races? Actually, have no clue on this one

That's not how it's work... There are no phenotypes in the sense of overclass for races. If they are two different races they wouldn't be connected and have a different name

What is going on on the border of the Themlar Union and the Kingdom of Yondarim?

If you look closely, the same thing is happening on all borders in this picture. I think this may indicate "cultural influence" of the planets, like in Endless space and other games.

Entirely possible it could just be a graphical error.

Or maybe it represents shared control of a star system, as star systems have individual planets which can be controlled separately.
