Just wondering two things about modding the game from someone that knows this stuff better then I.

1. How easy would it be to increase your trait points and how many traits I could take? Should be fairly simple, just go into the .ini files and edit a few numbers or whatever files they use. Am I correct? At worst could I just use Cheat Engine? Stop me if I am wrong.

2. How easy would it be to mod the map size past 1000 stars? Just curious honestly. I know this would screw with the map generartion.

Super easy. They're just txt files.

Should be easy to change if the galaxy generation settings are in lua define file or txt.

Notepad++ should work well enough shouldn't it? If not. What would? That brings up the question of balancing it out so AI generated Empires get the extra trait points as well, correct? And thanks by the way. I am just making sure because Wiz mentioned that the game would be easily moddable in the Stream.

Notepad++ should work well enough shouldn't it?
Notepad++ is prefect for modding PDS Clausewitz engine files; you can use it to edit interface gui/gfx files, localization files, and even save files, too.

Correct. If you changed Charming from 1 pt to 3 pts, AI will obey the new rules you've made.

And thanks by the way. I am just making sure because Wiz mentioned that the game would be easily moddable in the Stream.
Yup, as long as mechanics and define entries are not hard coded, we can mod it.
