Two odd things about Machine Uprising (Machine side), are those things bugs?

I've decided to join the side of the Machines in my playthrough and I noticed two oddities:

Machine Empire purging robots:

I checked species rights and it says "Machine Integration", so why are they still getting purged?

I can't demolish ruined buildings:

Don't know why I can't, the "Demolish" button is somehow replaced by a greyed out "Downgrade" button.

Are those things working as intended and I am simply overlooking something? Or are those two things bugs?

I don't know about the first one - it does sound like a bug, but I've never encountered it myself.

The second is not a bug, though I agree it's a frustrating experience, and I suspect not one the devs considered when they made the decisions that brought it about.
