Two Kingdoms become one?

My current character is the King of Wales and after helping my wife take her claim to become the Queen of Aragon, she has died.

Now my heir is the King of Aragon. My question is, what happens when my current character dies? Does my heir become King of Wales and Aragon, or does he have to give one of them up?

Aragon only has 2 counties, Somerset and one in Estonia (I gave him the County as I took it during a Holy War) and Wales has the whole of Wales, two counties in Ireland and one in Estonia.

Only if it is inside an empire.

CA affects vassals. Kingdoms can still merge. Duchies and counties can not pass to another realm.

OP: If you check your character sheet (click your portrait) it will have a small picture of your hier. That is who will be given your primary holdings.

Definately De jure. As for de facto it would depend on the titles that are held the kingdom titles created.

De jure kingdoms are simply superdukes. De facto Kings follow their own laws.

I can never spell them right so, the one where your oldest child inherits everything.

Still, make sure the gender part of it is the same, too. The last thing you need is a king with only daughters, so she inherits one while some uncle gets the other.


And yes, you'll be the King of both Aragon and Wales. I think whichever the current ruler had first will default to the primary title, though you can change it if you want whenever you want. The only effect should be what the map looks like.

Yes as long as you have the right succession laws your son is going to be king of Aragon and Wales.
You might want to destroy the weaker title later on though and let the land drift in to your main kingdom, just for some easier management.(you can recreate the title after 100 years as a titular title) Unless your plan is to create an empire title, in wich case it doesnt really matter.
