Twitter: The new frontend ...

Hey guys and gals,

Any idea what this means, from their Twitter page?

"The new frontend is now taking shape, and should look rather good when its finished."

I was thinking perhaps the new feature that allows you to let the A.I. manage fronts, or it might just be as simple as the loading screen/menu selection screen.

Just curious.

Frontend is just the user interface, graphics. And what does it mean? Just check the dev diary

The 'Frontend' is the menu screens, etc... That's how it is in other games, anyway (look in: "<your game directory>\gfx\interface\frontend\")

So they're talking about the GUI, then?

Also, if this is true, did you hear about the rumor that there will be two "GUIs" per say, one for advanced players, the other for beginners?

Any truth to this?

No, it's in the other thread, but they did a translation and it doesn't appear that they are doing it afterall. Apparently a misinterpretation??

Johan showed this in a recent presentation when he joked about the wonderful frontend, and all there was on the screen was six buttons on a black background. This would have been the screen in HOI2 where you selected the game to load (or a new game) and the flag of the country you want to play.
