Was hoping the Shakarn were like the Streetsharks...

But it looks like I got the next best thing with Dinosaucer.

Honestly, this is fine. Especially if the Shakarn have laser and psionic as their weapons channels.

EDIT: Looks like they are another kinetic/laser faction. That is fine. though Psionic and lasers would have been cooler.

Yes Shakarn seem to be a militant/covert faction. They will undoubtly be my fav faction to date, I just love everything draconic/reptilian and I'm in love their big, four legged lizard unit.

I wonder what their "centuries of enforced isolation" means...

But I also will like Therians, they are so much different then existing NPC factions: getting Biomutant/Mutant Year Zero vibe here. Fox snipers, Werwolves and Lions with antlers: count me in!

Not outright shapeshifters as i have said but still quite close to what many people have foresight.
Not the most interesting thing for me. Reptilians are meh, and they don't shift-shape technically. But i was right with the Therians and the new events look interesting. Hope you guys like the expansion :)

For me it totally hits all the marks, it's exactly what I wanted from the game. At this point I don't even know if I need the third dlc :D Just kidding.

For me revelations was more interesting. As i said reptilians are meh for me. And while they disguise and infiltrate they aren't what i was expecting, shapeshifters infiltrators. Close but not what i want. Kinda with ice-creams, i like chocolate but i love Dulce de Leche Granizado / granita milk caramel. The same way i like infiltrators but i love shapeshifters :)

Although there is still a place for that "cryo" damage channel I'm strongly suggesting :D

Well, Revelations bring Entropy and the newt guys got Sonic. Maybe the third expansion brings Cryo or another damage channel. COuld be interesting to have more than one new DC in the same expansion :)

new DC in the same expansion :)
I don't want more damage channels, there are already so many in game and they don't feel very different. Make city building more diverse between factions and tech victories between secret techs. But for now I'm happy with the new faction and world events yay :D

This looks like it'll be a lot of fun. At the same time was kind of hoping for something even more alien, strange cubiod looking creatures that build cities only on water. Still looking forward to the expansion.

They're okay I guess. I would have liked something more exotic too, but I like the concept of reptilian as a hidden threat.

A bit disappointed by the weapon groups though, I feel already too many things in the game have lasers, but Sonic may bring interesting interactions with other kinetics.

Yeah, I also lean towards more exotic or alien looking aliens (Weird octopoids, cube or grey goo aliens, heck, even something like protoss/Tau/Greys with personal energy shields and super crazy plasma weaponry). I really still like these Shakarn! Their weapons being a mix of sonic and laser damage in one, look really cool though. Their armor and units look savage and high tech. We'll see more soon.

Remember that playable faction must be more or less humanoid. Their heroes must use the same equipement that other heroes uses and their secret tech units also can't be totally different than those of other factions.
NPC factions is where a really weird aliens work as they don't need to be humanoid at all.

That's true :D
Back to AoW 3, I always find it a lil weird when the Halflings riding on somethings and have his weapons displaced from hand

Entirely true. I'd forgotten about that, thank you for the reminder. Looking forward to seeing what sonic shenanigans the lizards can get up to.
