Got it!
I didn't realise there were different event .txt. files for SMEP, or that it sleeps the vanilla purge events when you fire 70000. I have removed the # and will try again later.

EDIT: Having removed the # in front of the date I can now fire 70148 through the command window, so that appears to have fixed it. I am confused about why the purge event is commented out, and will post about it in the SMEP thread as that seems most relevant. Thanks Doc

I've posted about this in the SMEP thread as well as I am unsure what the cause may be:

Playing as the USSR, when Danzig fires and Germany attacks Poland, France and the UK never declare war on Germany. I have run through this 10 times but have yet to see a DoW. Can anyone explain?

I've never seen this before. I think there are two versions of Danzig or War though, one in which the UK doesn't guarantee Polish independence so check the event log for either Poland declining the offer or the UK not standing by them. Actually I don't think SMEP alters the original event much beyond providing room for an extended road to war sequence if Danzig doesn't start a war.

The UK event will happen on March 30, 1939 in which they have the option not to guarantee, following which Poland still has a chance to decline, if they do this there is a much greater chance of them folding to the Germans but they still usually go to war. Check your save game file for the following phrases "Danzig or War - Poland stands alone!" or "Guarantee Independence to Poland - Poland Declines" minus the quotations to see if these events have fired.

HI, what the above posted...can anyone point to a live link where it is hosted? I've scoured the forums but no joy found

EDIT: Disregard, going to go with SMEP and Pang's 1.09 to see if the AI can prove to be a more credible opponent.
