I've played and enjoyed Imperator since 1.0. I know there are some who complain that movement speed is inaccurately slow, but in past games pre-2.0 I've been OK with movement speed. I see why it's important for gameplay given the abstraction that battles take weeks rather than a day, and faster movement speed might allow unrealistic abilities to reinforce battles everywhere because of the near-omniscient player and AI.
However, I just started a new game, and it takes nearly a month to move one territory over. This seems way slower than it used to, it feels like by a factor of maybe 3-4. While I think it makes reasonable gameplay sense to make movement slower than recorded army marching times, this seems excessive.
Has movement speed been adjusted in 2.0?
A related issue (because of longer movement times lead to more attrition ticks), it is frustrating that the way tribal levies are divvied up, one small army has 60 food, while the others, about the same size, have a tenth that much. I do like how attrition can be harsh, but with slow movement times and desert terrain, I may lose a 15-20% of my troops just gathering them into one area--before they even set foot into enemy territory.
