I think that paradox shuld create a training senario whear you get misions that is predefind to help the player learning the game.
As an exampel:

You are the Atlanians a race that lernd to create FTL sheps firt in the galaxy.

-I am your empress and you are chosen to lead the our empire in the conlonizing of the galax.
Your firs task will be to.... (I think that it whold be to serch a near by star system that our scientists belive have a exoplanet.

I think they have an in game Tutor all designed that will allow people to play what they want to play out the gate, but still be eased in to the more detailed mechanics. I for one welcome my robotic overlord assistant. I sure hope if my AI rebels he doesn't go with them... or at least becomes really snarky.

I know that they have a integrated plop upp helper. But it don't say what to do next.

In CK2 and EU4 do you have the possibility to play as one of the "NOOB" countries.
You will not have that in a random generated map. So the only way to learn the game with normal AI is to get a earler start or a few more planet.

I don't think there will be a tutorial. At first I thought a tutorial start with the United Earth Humans with some scripted events might be helpful to new people, something like.
  • Hello welcome. Space is vast and unknown, order your scienceship to survey our system.
  • Well done, one of your POP's is unemployed, move it to the other tile and construct a better farm.
  • Now that our population is growing we need to improve our economy, build some stations with the constructor.
  • Choose technology to research.
  • Our scientist is done exploring the system and have found an anomaly, research the anomaly or send the scientist to survey the neighbouring system.
  • Now that you're doing that you should upgrade your planets with some more more buildings.
  • Some pirate station have been discovered. Build some corvettes and kill it.
  • Build a colony ship and send it to the habitable world you've discovered.
  • Deal with some faction on your colony.
    and so on
However the situation log seems to have some tutorial which tells you to do stuff if you're completely frozen at the start of the game. More importantly mr clippy seems to be really informative on just about everything you can click, even offering suggestions for which technology would be good to pick so I think a scripted tutorial will be unnecessary. If you need more help then clippy+situation log I think they've also said they have planned tutorial videos for release.

I'm not 100%, but I think I saw in one of the gameplay videos that the tutorial bot(V.I.R. isn't it?) does add tutorial missions/quests to your situation log, like survey your system, build a mining station, and so on in that fashion. Unless I'm misremembering this.
