Tutorial Bug

Just purchased EU3 Complete and I keep having issues with the tutorial, I can go through one tutorial, say the introduction, but whenever I complete that one and click on the next tutorial, the game crashes. Any thoughts? Also, I had to manually download d3dx9_35 dll, not sure if that has any bearing or not. Any feedback is appreciated.

The tutorials in EU3:Complete have not been updated since the original release of EU3 in 2007. The first one you do will run, but if you then choose a second one the game will crash - you need to exit and restart the game after each chapter. Installing the HttT expansion and the 4.1 patch should fix all tutorial crashes and content problems, the DW expansion's tutorials also work.

Thanks, I have the Complete edition, I don't think I have Heir to the Throne, is there a patch for Napoleon's Ambition or In Nomine that would work?

So a few google searches later, it seems this is an issue that's pretty common, egg on my face for expecting the complete version to contain the needed content. It kinda bothers me that I can't really play through a tutorial until I purchase further content, feels like a bait and switch, but fair enough it's only $10 on Steam. Looks like that's the only place to get it, Amazon's entry from Paradox said it wasn't offered there? I've never used Steam, so when I tried to download Heir to the Throne it said I needed to have Complete. How do I register my copy there so that I can purchase Heir to the Throne?
