Turret Generators - bugged or just more bad UI?

I've had a couple missions now where I've taken out turret generators (sometimes clusters of four), but the turrets don't go offline, and I've still had to take them out. A couple of times it's really caught me off-guard and chewed me up pretty badly.

Am I missing something or are they just not working right?

Are you killing all of them? Sometimes part of the turrets are on one, and the rest on another. Once there was a ton of generators making it easier to just sensor lock turrets and pop them.

I don't recall ever seeing a turret generator outside of story missions, and they all seem to work as intended in them. I've also found that it's usually better to just sensor lock and take out the turrets beyond their visual range. Closing in to get guaranteed generator kills generally means you are going to get hammered for a turn or two before taking them all out.

Some Turrets are controlled by a separate generator even if the turret you killed is near a generator. If the turret doesn`t go down, look for another one. Or just kill the Turret.

I also suspect that some lone turrets have their own power source, but not confirmed as I never search the whole map.
