Still and Indian nation is completely outrageous, I mean there is literally no way in hell that such a nation formed out of such a tiny minority can possibly even begin to govern, I mean even with Soviet troops it would take outright 'g word' to begin to be able to control the population.
Maybe I just change the country's name to Dakota.

Hansnery, did you specified an end date for Turning Point? For example, the game ends at 2000 or 2015?
It would be short if this mod ends at 1991, the end of the cold war. I did see your pictures showcasing gameplay, it looks excellent and has much potential to be a great mod.
Just don't wait too long to release Turning Point, because what if your computer containing these mod files crashes and the hard drive is done (good as dead if no backup is found). What would you do? What would we do?

I think the tech tree goes up till 2005. So far what I remember is that the early versions will be until the mid 90s, then it'll get expanded into the 2000s.

I have the mod as well, so even if Hans lost it we could still work on it. The tech tree goes into the 2000's and the current game end date is 2012 but it's all still WiP.

If the mod continues into the 2000s and early 2010s, then how does the mod's timeline reflect on this (e.g.: the cold war continues past 1991, the Soviet Union's still alive, and such)?

You know as fun as it is to see the Soviets pulling a reverse Pilsudski Doctrine on America, am I the only one who WANTS to see Americans bend the knee?

Because let's face it: there would have in this situation of defeat in conventional war certainly be middle class people, politicians, even businessmen who would line up to make peace and collaborate imo - try and "get America the biggest slice of its proverbial pie under the new order." I think that would be kinda neat to see: let's say, a Hungarian-model America where they have to avow communism but are generally liberal and quasi-independent under the umbrella

I agree, but it's all in fun. Anyway, if this mod were to be completely realistic, and given the number of gun owners in the U.S. (both legal and illegal), there should be partisan revolts in every single province as soon as the Soviets annex. Revolt levels should continue to be high for a few years as well. Who would want to play that mod?

I constantly upload backup copies so no danger in losing anything. I think I could release right now I guess but I'm just a little picky with quality control. :D
DreadGrunt says he had a lot of fun despite the bugs. We have a bug that the game ctd randomly for no apparent reason (the one that gives me headaches), it just takes reloading the game to continue, but we hope that when we release people will help us fix it. Despite this one, there are no more major bugs.

PS: First post updated with screenshots (hopefully comments about the wrong borders will cease :D).

I believe they go to the soviets, I think it makes sense for Hawaii to not have independence in this case, mostly due to the fact that the only real government that existed there was a monarchy, and soviet relations with those aren't as good as history told us. Alaska I think should go to a puppet Canada, A it could use the oil, and B Not many Russian live in Alaska, so justifying it seems hard, even if it was once Russian territory.
While there might well be other reasons Hawaii would stay under occupation, that the only real government that existed there previously having been a monarchy is not one. Take Romania, for instance. Spent its entire existence until 1947 as a monarchy (the last two years as a Soviet puppet), yet the Soviets didn't decide to annex the whole place for it.

The problem was that the monarch was popular in Romania with the proletarians. He heavily favored the local democrats under the iron guard-antonescu gov, then later helped the allied and resistance, and was the one to open Romania to the red army. The soviets could only force a soviet government. He opposed the soviet gov but had even less powers than under the fascists. In 1947 a student protest against the soviet gov and in favor of the king, pushed him out of power. The soviets threatened to attack the protests.

I doubt the royalties of hawaii would be as appreciated by the hawaiians.

And Hawaii is not so big and rich as Romania. It is an ideal marine base for the Soviets.

Oh, I'm not saying the Soviets would set up a monarchy in Hawaii (after all, Hawaii hasn't been one since 1893), or that strategic concerns like naval bases in the Pacific might not make the Soviets maintain direct control, just that Hawaii only having been properly independent as a monarchy before is not itself a reason for the Soviets not to set a (republican) puppet government.
