hey team, im using the NWO2 mod for DH and in mid game as Commy China and got DOW'd by USA in '63

needless to say, got about 12 nukes dropped on my in 7 days.

---

i don't have a clue how to edit game files or use any editor.

is there a simple txt doc i can change to say no nukes for anyone?

----

on another note, i would gladly pay someone to use join.me and edit this tech gargon for me

It should be doable by editing event history in your savegame file (and there's no easy in-game way to do this). I'll let you know about the details later today.

BTW, USA shouldn't automatically have their nukes switched on when at war, unless there's WW3 raging on. How is it in your case?

Thanks Bizon, this is for the NWO2 mod so the USA just nukes the hell outta everyone as soon as DOW is on. Doesn't make the game fun with the USSR folding in 90 days and me as commy china needing to fold after 7 days.

but i would also love to see this in just the DH Full version...USA usually gets to nuking JAP/GER by late '44 and kinda ruins things.

If you don't want to have anything with nukes ever, you may try:
a) for NWO2 find Mods\New World Order 2\db\events.txt put "#" sign in front of this line: "#event = "db\events\nwo\nukes.txt""
b) for DH Full find Mods\Darkest Hour Full\db\tech\secret_weapons_tech.txt put "#" sign inside this line: " { # command = { type = enable_task which = nuke } "

This will work unless some country already received nukes - in this case you'll have to dig into the savegame file: open it (make a backup first) in a text editor (even notepad will do) and replace "nuke = yes" (without parentheses) with nothing.

There is an ingame way.
Load up as a country, claim reactor province (albuquerque) usa acceptall, use money cheat, demand terretory, destroy nuke. save. repeat destroy nuke until none left. load as usa, acceptall, get province back, save. Voila.

It's surely creative even if convoluted. As a mind exercise: you probably don't have to use any money cheat, you use acceptall after all. What do you mean by 'destroy nuke'? You might be able to lose nukes by loading them on some unit and disbanding it (I haven't ever tried if it doesn't return a nuke to the stockpile) but you may need a lot of American units to do that. And I'm not sure if there's a way to remove buildings, reactor included. Also even with reactor dismantled and nuke stockpile cleared, USA should start to rebuild the reactor and eventually be able to produce nukes again.

No there is an intelligence mission. acceptall makes intelligence have 100percent chance
With the reactor in rebuilding it takes a while. You can still repat claiming the province though. or modify ai not to build reactors

I would love to see someone make a decision to turn off nukes ingame. It would be so handy for those of use who believe that they just take the fun out of things.
