Comrades, we are overlooking one of our most capable colleagues, who in his line of work (unfortunately) has dealt nigh continuously with the former NKVD and its division. I nominate Prosecutor General Smilyvyyenko for the open Politburo position.

Comrade People's Commissar, I thank you for your kind words. Although I would of course welcome any opportunity to serve the Motherland; I feel that my own skills -mainly suited to literary and theoretical fields of application- are ill-suited to the tasks which the recently vacant position requires. The key to advancing the revolution is socialist meritocracy and one must occasionally realise they are not fit to the task. I personally feel that Comrade General Prosecutor Smilyvyyenko, as nominated by the good Comrade People's Commissar Sokolov, would serve admirably in such a position.

I do hope, however, in light of the passage of the Revolutionary Foreign Plan; which calls for the establishment of a brother socialist regime in Jugoslavija and the incorporation of Persia into the thrice-praised Soviet Union, that my report of late and the conclusions therein are deemed worthy of further consideration.

((Unlike the glorious NK for Doctrine, there is no reason why the head of a rather unimportant wing of the Soviet military should be automatically be given a Politburo seat. I think just shoving him into the SGO, which he has a perfectly legitimate reason to be a member of, would suffice.))

((What? The Airforce is represented (as is the navy and the army) by the Ministry of Defense and STAVKA. Adding the MoAir would mean that the Navy and Army are being biased against, requiring the need for the MoN and MoArm. This just gets excessive and there is no point.))

Comrades, with the unforeseen departure of Comrade Pasternak, we have a new Politburo position to fill. We can either:

a) Directly replace Comrade Pasternak
b) Move Comrade Sokolov to the NKVR and fill his spot
c) Disband the position altogether, giving the NKVR duties to another member of the Politburo.

Please indicate your preference; once we have established that, we will move on to nominations.

Also, the industrial plan passes.
