Tonio, thanks for your input. Of course it's based on the old map. I need to check what the manpower and income is for the new map for England and France. But it definately looks like France needs one or more leaders to cover the gap between 1419 and 1425 in which England has a shock 5 or 4 leader and France nothing.

The current leader distribution is:

England:
Henry V - shock 5 (1419-1422)
Beachamp - shock 4 (1419 - 1439)
Bedford - shock 3 (1419 - 1435)
Talbot - shock 4 (1429 - 1453)

France:
Richemont - shock 5 (1425 - 1458)
Dunois - shock 4 (1427 - 1468)
de Rais - shock 4 (1440 - 1456)

England has a shock 5 leader to dominate France till 1422, then a shock 4 till 1425. France is no match for England between 1419 and 1425.

I propose to add:
Earl of Buchan (AGCEEP leader), with shock 4 intead of 3, starting in 1420. Then France has a shock 4 leader in 1420 to match Henry V and later Beachamp.

I will check the income and manpower to see if that needs to be altered too.

I want the result that England has the advantage till 1425 (but not so big as it is now), but that France has a good opportunity to receive her historical outcome.

But all of this discussion about FRA vs ENG presupposes none of them is a very skilled person, but rather that they are as teenagers who feel their manly prestige threatened and they must "prove" to the world that they are the better man than their opponent, and thus they solve their quarrels by using brute force only.

From Tonio's report it appears that a very high inflation will be needed to win the war presupposing some kind of equality in strength is achieved from start. While Tonio states that the winner is dominating up to 1500 I say the winner will certainly not be dominating the game in the long run. That inflation he will probably have to pay for the rest of the game.

If I were not ENG nor FRA I would jump of joy if they both took war taxes in 5 to 10 years and both ended up at 10-15% inflation and a WP after say 7-8 years of war.

yes, Daniel, that happened in our rumbles.
Though well-played England-France or France has more than 20% income gap to other. Well-played Aragon-Italy can match and hit that though. And OE. But Austria, BRA, Poland, Muscovy, Sweden looks weak at this rate.

(Please let me play France this time. I´ve been trying to do so since I´ve begun MPing here. Also I´ve stated my preferences in the other thread yesterday already. :) )

With my dear friend Ampoliros in France and me in England I am sure that we can arrive at a friendly split up of the area in question. A typical Daniel-solution that makes the rest of the players sigh from frustration ;) and the nations making the deal earn enormous amounts of money because of their diplomatic skill :D . After that Ampo can fight Austria and Spain as much as he wants. ;).

But perhaps Ampo's well-known lust for blood and battles will overcome his intelligence and he will instead retrograde into the aforementioned teenage level and proceed to pull up his sleeves and start punching...

Hark, me lads! I may enjoy a decent war or two and I´ve been known to spill some blood for trifle reasons, hehe, but as England may be concerned :

I am sure that we can arrive at some kind of compromise which will benefit us
both. I am always open to diplomatic solutions, as I prefer the sharp rapier of talk over the blunt broadsword of bombardment! ;)

Would you be a match for Daniels terrible war skills in the HYW? ;)

Well, suffice to say, that Daniel A and me both went under gloriously together in the good old days of Dire Straits II.

Yeah, we were great buddies with a lot of wins in wars. Not until the unholy alliance of OE and RUS attacked us (SWE+AUS) together did we lose.

This sounds excellent BTW, I do hope we end up in ENG and FRA. :)

Normally I stay away from 1419 starts since they tend to lead to very strange results. The fact you have decided to drop Burgundy and make either Castille or Aragon playable makes this a bit less likely though. Also I've no idea what the WTK3 map is like.

FAL,

Let me know when you've tested the rebels.

If they don't work, do remember that I reserved Sweden.

Oh, and are we starting next week? I'm more than willing to help you with the edits and balancing if it means starting next week.

I will do this tonight and come back to you.

Oh, and are we starting next week? I'm more than willing to help you with the edits and balancing if it means starting next week.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I try to get any obvious errors out of this scenario before next week tuesday. I have reserved a large part of the weekend for it.

The first obvious things I noticed is that there seems to be too much gold in the world, but that can be solved by giving the excessive mines a lower mine value in the save.
Also, generally there seem to be more valuable goods in the colonial worlds, so it is possible that in the 17th century and onwards the traders will get really rich. But this is, as far as I know, also true for AoD. The effects of it remain unknown till we get to play in the later centuries with the new map.

For the rest I intend on giving France one extra leader to cover the gap with England in the first 7 years of the HYW, as I posted before.
Also, Austria is a 3 province minor in this scenario with Styria being stronger. So, I guess it would be wise to give Austria two provinces extra.
The other countries look to be quite allright.

All,

I come up with an edit list this friday. In the meantime it would be nice if you all give the scenario a good look too.

WATK3 map is the latest map by Kasperus. Ryo made his AoD mod based on Kasperus' old WATK2 map.

WATK3, compared to WATK2, has more provinces in Europe and Asia (mainly Germany and India), plus lots of minor fixed things, like icon positions. It is also more thoroughly tested (by Kasperus and others). I am not sure, but it also looks the PTI in Siberia is slightly different. Kasperus also added about 10 new countries, like Nassau in the HRE, which is nice for flavour.

As it is now, WATK3 is a better map than WATK2, but unfortunately only has a 1419 scenario coming with it. But since never have played a 1419 scenario from start till finish (something I still wanted to do sometime). So, all in all I wanted to give it a shot with WAT3K for a new campaign.

Ryo intends to do a WATK3 update for his AoD mod in the future too, by the way.
