Support the Goon!

The good Goon Teuton is looking for new friends and allies to come visit his wonderful shantytown. Already, the Goon counts the Gorilla of Turkey and the Aragonese Peacock as his friends, and they are welcome to visit anytime.

You too can join the elect!

Unfortunately, due to the predatory habits of his neighbours and the ineptitude of several international financiers in loaning money to said neighbours beyond their means to repay, the town is burning slightly at the moment.

As such, the Goon issues a call for aid from all who would see the Goon triumphant in peace: "Friends, Romans, and big creatures with nasty teeth that just crawled out from under a rock, the Goon calls upon you to send minor gifts or minor loans with 1% interest and a five year duration for the restoration of the Shantytown."

Remember the words of wisdom:

Never lose faith in the light of the moon,
never eat pizza with your dining spoon,
if life is jolly rotten, let me grant you this boon,
life is funnier, when you support the Goon"

Thanks!

Actually, Tsunami had a restart because the Serbian King declared peace with Algiers as our very first action..... Was thrown right into the frying-pan without any heads-up what so ever.

Any-roads, the peace with Burgundy was intentional. Not only were Aragon at peace with her, but Aragons allies wanted Aragon to fight her.... not only without any justification, but as the Serbian King let Burgundy listen in on the chat between us (Burgundy being a former ally - us not knowing where this was leading... might be a sham for all we knew...) talking to Aragons allies, it soon became apperant that there was foul play brewing....

So, the Serbian KingI asked the alliance if they really wanted to declare on Burgundy (misspelling it Brittany at first... lol) and why...

I think that Burgundys views towards Aragon are sincere as the Serbian King never did anything to trick Burgundy.... and without any hesitation accepted peace when Burgundy offered it.

There were 4 countries that due to player abuse caused significant issues around them.

Algeria
Poland
Lithuania
England

These countries have had edits to inflation and loans ( in some cases)

The following countries recieved between 250D-550D and/or inflation change of around -3 to -5 %.

Brittany
Burgundy
Castille
Aragon
Portugal
Hungary
Teutonic Order
Muscowy

That, in my mind is the end of the matter. Poland, Lithunania and Algeria are pretty much out anyhow. It was entirely subjective by me. I wont be playing in either region so it makes no difference to me.

Hungary benefitted least whilst nations like the TO benfitted the most, with burgundy benfitting somewhere in between.

If you have an issue with any of this, best to ICQ me.

King of Aragon, your realm made about 100d a year from taxes alone....

I do not think you need to be edited to be honest.......

Hope you don't mind me saying so, but as far as I can understand the reasons to edit... Aragon is not all in the editable catagory!

Well I have no problems with Castille being compensated on the level Mowers has enforced (though why Burgundy should be in the list I'm less sure, unless England hurt it more than I thought).

Of course, whether I still play Castille tomorrow is another matter altogether - I would like to, but it's up to Mowers to make the final call.

And what about your deliberate violation of the non-aggression treaty you had in effect with Algiers until 1500 for no justifiable reason other than sheer greed?

EDIT: I feel an explanation is in order to those who feel that my loan-taking actions were against the rule of long-term play. I felt that unless I showed the ability to fight fiercely for Algerian integrity, I would eventually be swallowed up in the long term by the Portuguese and their minions who apparently regard non-aggression treaties as just a scrap of paper. I felt that the Portuguese cabal was the only serious threat to my long-term existence, and if I could weaken them considerably even at considerable cost to myself it would be worth it. I did show up today (about 1 hour late) in the Tsunami 2 channel to continue playing Algiers just to prove that I did intend to play it long-term, but was told that somebody else already took it.

Byng, don't be ridiculous.

1) There was no non-agression treaty. The treaty was very straight forward: you dont attack tangiers till 1500, and i give you military access. You know that was what we agreed. I'm sure i can find our conversation in the history log somewhere so be carefull how long you continue to "forget" the truth ....

2) We didnt want to swallow up algiers. Why on earth would portugal want all those wrong culture, wrong religeon provinces?!! LOL madness. We offered peace about 10 times for what we wanted - 3 TPs and a 500 population colony south of morroco, which you didnt even have a land connection to so couldnt realistically hope to keep anyway.

In other words, the treaty that you originally proposed, which I rejected in its unmodified form, was that I don't attack tangiers in exchange for absolutely nothing?

Byng, this is the last time I answer you since you obviously are just being a pain deliberately. You agreed not to attack Tangiers as long as I gave you military access. I agreed, you ASKED for military access, and I gave it to you. So you must have known that was the agreement for you to ask for military access.

In any case, even if I HAD broken a treaty (which I most definitely didn't) it would still not be anything like justification for the way you behaved.

Stop being such a sore loser. You deliberately screwed up Algiers and broke the rules set by Mowers just because you wouldn't accept the loss of 3 TPs and a colony, and now you are lying in an attempt to justify the un-justifiable.

Unfortunately, unlike your dispute with Michaelis I am unable to prove myself right by unvailing the history log from a personal save game. Thats a mistake I won't be making in future ;)

I have the save file, would you like me to email it to you? Or if you believe I might edit the log, maybe you can get someone else with the save file to email it to you?

EDIT: I did a search of all statements by Dawkins in my save but could not find anything relating to our treaty. My save is from 1453, and I thought our treaty was made earlier. I'll try to get a more recent save in case I am mistaken about when the treaty was enacted. Or do conversations sometimes not get logged into the save file for some reason?

Do you deny that it was you who approached me with a treaty offer? Since you admit that I was the one who ASKED for military access, what treaty did you propose to me that did not involve military access prior to my negotiating the military access modification?

Thanks, that explains it, the only time I made a personal save was in 1453, which relied upon the host's save for the earlier conversations.
