So I am playing as Germany (historical start, 1936, attacked Poland a little early, then immediately jumped on France, then the Balkans, Turkey, and into the Mideast, Suez, Gibraltor - the Italians were going pretty good, all of north africa west of Cairo). At this point I attacked Russia and went with the Drang Noch Osten option. My army was pretty small but after some tough slogging we got a Soviet surrender in the Bitter Peace (or whatever it's called). We then geared up for Sealion and regrouped along the new Russian border.
Partisans started springing up all over the place. With such a small army this is a big problem; we're drawing some units off the Sov border and using newly built formations to bump off these rebellions.
Here is where it gets weird: Partisans appeared in part of the old Romanian territory. I pause. I tagged a unit that was on the way to Greece through this area already to attack these Romanians. Order goes in without a problem (arrow directed into their province). I grab a second unit from the area of Bulgaria and directed it into the area of the Romanians. Arrow will not appear; big red X, and a warning that we can't enter neutral territory. Hmmm? Don't see any borders there. What? Click over to Country Map mode. Suddenly this whole section from the Black Sea to the old Polish border is bright red and listed as part of Russia. So some how these Romanian rebels liberated all of Bessarabia for the USSR?
Wouldn't be that big a deal but since we have a six month truce with the USSR we can't bulldoze this little enclave now. But more importantly, I don't understand the game mechanics that caused that to fire.
The game is basically over at this point anyway (860 points for the Axis, 60 for the Allies, 14 for the Comintern) and it's January 1941 but I would really like to understand the logic behind the event. Can anyone help?
Thanks,
LR
