So I am loving the changes in the Asimov beta, especially the addition of tributaries. For the first time I'm on a galactic conquering spree and actually enjoying it instead of feeling bogged down! However I have a couple of small quibbles with the implementation.

A) The main one is that, due to the intrinsic Defense agreement included with tributaries, they actually cost you influence to maintain. I'm of two minds on this: I can see the game-balance idea of slowing down conquests/anti-blobbing, but from an immersive perspective it would seem that having another nation paying you tribute would boost internal pride and cohesiveness (which appears to largely be what the influence mechanic simulates - internal control/influence). Currently I'm balancing my galactic domination by making small nations into Protectorates to "pay" for further acquisition of tributaries.

I could see an argument against this benefit for Pacifist/Xenophile civs (and possibly democratic governments in general) who could be morally opposed to such things. Then one could argue that Militarist/Xenophobic and/or Autocratic nations should then benefit even more from tributaries, at least in regards to Influence.

Regardless, my relatively simple suggestion for this would be for Tributaries to provide the same +1 Influence as Protectorates; with the -1 Influence from the intrinsic Defense agreement this would result in no net loss or gain. Perhaps modifiers to the +1 could be applied based on ethos/government, but that's a bit more complicated.

B) The second suggestion is really very minor: I'd like to know how much each tributary is providing me in terms of energy/minerals, perhaps in a tool-tip.
