More stuff with unitnames. Transferred all coastal subs I could find to coastal submarines. Large Destroyers with USA;49: in front of their names but don't show up with the names when I build them. Uploading revised file.

Nope. Wrong file.

First of all; Edit such a file with a textpad program like notepad++.
It is the best to check for syntax errors (e.g. your NS "uboats" wont work - see my post).
Next check your saved stuff.

Unitnames edit is simple.
There should be any problem at all.

For me it look like a very old TRP file.
Any new stuff like long range fighter names and light infantry names; everything is missing.

Anything i could find are german "ns" coastal subs? And this combination wont work at all.

And by the way; i have checked our TRP file. Studti had separated and redone the unitnames for US destroyer ships when he had reworked the ships so the US files should be fine for ship names.

Conclusion:
Please tell me your checksum.
I think there are more problems at all.

Well. The amount of work isnt worth the effort. Studti had moved any name for a large destroyer into the large destroyer unitname category. That is okay from my point of view. At the end we cant and we wont limited names to any specific model line. It wont work on the coding side and we dont have the time to sort the unitnames to fit those requirements for all nations.
 
I try anyway ...

There are various issues about porting to E3:
-If you have tried novapaddy work around E3, you would see that the fronts are very rare. For example Spanich civil war is ridiculous as the lack of units make impossible to cover the front, while German-Soviet war works better
-This would force to rework the entire combat/divisions system
-You would need entire armies to garrison beaches
-The amount of work would be insane, even porting vanilla DH is a pain (and I know cause I did most of Europe events for novapaddy version)

So even the map would give us many interesting choices, that you're asking for are months of work
 
Have you thought about doing destroyer escorts, corvettes and frigates?
Sry for the late answer.

We have talked about those ships.
At the end we havent add those ships for the follwing reasons:
- Role: The ships u have mentioned are most likely escort anti sub units only. So the best position to sum up all those ships is the escort building for convois.
- Armament: Basing on their role in ww2 (convoy escort) those ships werent armed with strong weapons. Most of those ships were armed with 76~88mm guns and without any torpedo launcher. So they had no chance against a regular destroyer or even against a Battleship.
- Size: Another problem is the size of those vessels. Some of the early corvettes or frigates had problems with the Atlantic sea. They were small and not suitable for long range naval ops.

So basing on those arguments we hadnt made separated ship classes. AI is already stressed by the combat logical routines and the new units so for the moment we wont add them.

BUT u will see that the Destroyer branch will be transformed into the cold war frigates because they got bigger, stronger and replaced the Destroyer as multi role combat support vessel. So there are - at least - some cold war frigates.

Speaking about ships, Regele Carol was a seaplane tender of very low capacity that acted as minelayer too. Not sure if it should be added into game.

Andrea Doria was better ship than Conte di Cavour, not sure if an upgrade in ship class would fit, maybe a couple of brigades would do.

You could take a look to this forum, It's an old one in Spanish and some images won't load, but with google translate it will provide some useful info about the Spanish Navy designs to complete the naval classes tree and use some images.

I think the ship wont fit. A single plane isnt worth the effort. And i think with 2 guns only it will have problems to deal with any ship it could face in the black sea. So from my point of view i cant see any argument for adding it.

I suggest this classes of ship for Spain, they were projected but never built cause lack of resources (or abandoned in early stages):

Think there is not a command to rename ships, cause Libertad became Galicia at the end of the war. Delete it in Victory event and add new unit?

If Italy goes for intervention in Spanish Civil War, the Regia Marina sold to Spanish Navy the old destructors DL12 Huesca (Gugliemo Pepe), Teruel (Alessandro Poerio), Ceuta (Aquila-Vifor) and Melilla (Falco-Viscol) in 1937. The two first are present in Regia Marina in starting scenario, the other two not. An event for the sold?

Problem is the multiplayer exploiting (and the fact that there is always a chance that those type of events could cause errors and ingame problems). Deleting units that were listed in the inc file is "save". But Nat. Spain is a new nation with new IDs so problems will start with the special spanish state development. When the ships will be listed under the new nat. spain tag they will get new unknown/random IDs so i cant delete the "ID unit". I have to delete it by the name string. So when u add or delete a single letter within the unit string the event wont work because it wont be able to find the ship. To be honest i wont risk unit exploit events just because names were changed. Furthermore i dont like those "deleting" scenario because the unit will lose attacked brigades and/or experience earned by combat (e.g. that is the reason why our SS-Divisions have always the last form of organisation and not the TOE of the time when they were formed).

Question here; Why should Italy do it? AI ITA okay, but human ITA? When u have such an event u need some kind of benefit and/or advantage. Without such a reason i wont add it.
